About the Role

The Director of Marketing Shared Services (MSS) Operations & Strategy will drive the vision for strategically evolving and leading the marketing pipeline and the tools & technology to drive efficiency for the department at large. This position is responsible for the development of more streamlined workflows, finding tools and technology to improve efficiency and driving change management needed to implement new processes & ways of working. This position will act as the key partner with the cross-functional operational leads to better integrate marketing into the overarching Product Pipeline calendar in both the short term and longer term as the Product Process evolves. As the Director of Operations, you will regularly influence decisions and initiatives. You will work in an energized, fast paced environment focused on enabling Brands to make more informed and effective marketing decisions, with efficient execution.

This is a hybrid role located in our beautiful San Francisco hub office.

What You'll Do

  • Continuously identify ways to improve the team’s operational workflow and drive process improvements. Will have a deep understanding of operational and process improvements that impact quality and execution and deliver continuous improvement.

  • Preparation, advance planning, and facilitation of leadership team meetings; accountable for ensuring that the meeting objectives are realistic, the team is well prepared, and that action items and next steps are documented and tracked.

  • Planning, budget, help the organization optimize costs and benefits.

  • Strategic Agility, sees ahead clearly and can anticipate future consequences and trends accurately; can articulately paint credible pictures and visions of possibilities and likelihoods.

  • Develop and improve operating models to support and facilitate the execution of the MSS strategy and business plan.

  • Identify opportunities in Ways of Working within business and synergy of Ways of Working and capabilities between businesses to drive improvement and efficiency.

  • Develop innovative solutions for complex situations in a fast-changing environment; cover a wide range of activities requiring complex judgments.

  • You will need to understand the big picture strategy and work with cross-functional teams and external partners. Helping to grow and maintain strong cross functional relationships with all internal teams (creative, digital, product and marketing).

Who You Are

  • Established leadership experience in Operations and/or Marketing role.

  • Experience in a highly complex, matrixed organization with a proven track record of working cross-functionally to drive change.

  • Strong knowledge of how to leverage marketing tools & technology to drive operational efficiency.

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate and drive consensus across multiple teams and functions.

  • Change agent and motivator, with the ability to build bottoms-up teams and approaches and foster positive culture change at Gap.

  • Entrepreneurial spirit with the ability to work through ambiguity, transform enterprise-wide ways of working, and infuse strategic thinking across levels.

  • Proven expertise developing and implementing evolved operations processes.

  • Ability to adapt to an ever-evolving, priority shifting environment with tight deadlines.

  • Demonstrated track record of successful strategic leadership and project management in a highly matrixed vertical retail environment.

  • Understanding of the apparel product creation and/or marketing brand creative production lifecycle

  • Highly credible and collaborative; track record of driving results across a broad spectrum of senior leadership and functional experts

  • Exceptional verbal, written and presentation communication skills.

  • This position requires a strategic mindset and consulting skills with a strong bias towards delivery.

Salary Range: $164,200 - $217,500 USD

Employee pay will vary based on factors such as qualifications, experience, skill level, competencies and work location. We will meet minimum wage or minimum of the pay range (whichever is higher) based on city, county and state requirements.
