The Role

Proofpoint is seeking a highly proactive, organized, and skilled professional with a robust background in cyber security analysis, security operations, and project management to join our Professional Services team. As a crucial member of our team, you will leverage your extensive experience in handling complex security challenges, mentoring diverse teams, and driving projects to successful completion in a dynamic enterprise environment. Your role will be pivotal in managing and securing our customers' critical information assets, ensuring the highest level of service and security.

Your day-to-day

• Engage directly with new and existing customers, providing expert project management and technical advisement in the realm of cybersecurity operations, data loss prevention and insider threat mitigation.

• Utilize your deep understanding of data analysis, reporting, and insider threat identification to advise and guide project objectives.

• Lead and manage projects with a specific focus on improving value to the customers, leveraging your experience in cyber security, and analysis.

• Coordinate with various departments to ensure comprehensive security measures, collaborating closely with internal teams and customer cyber security personnel and other relevant teams.

• Utilize your proven leadership skills to mentor teams of analysts and engineers, ensuring adherence to best practices and guidelines.

• Drive projects by managing dependencies, tracking issues, suggesting innovative ideas and have a keen eye on risk analysis and mitigation.

• Provide regular status reports to customers and management as necessary.

What you bring to the team

• A bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, cybersecurity or related field, or equivalent work experience. Advanced degrees or certifications are a plus.

• 5+ years of industry experience in a customer-facing technical field such as professional services, security analysis, or technical support, with a proven record in insider threat analysis and/or cyber security operations.

• Demonstrated experience in leading and mentoring teams within high-stakes security environments, particularly in government or large enterprise settings.

• Strong foundation in security practices related to insider threat identification, analysis, and mitigation, as well as a solid understanding of cyber security frameworks and counterintelligence measures.

• Exceptional project management skills, with a track record of managing complex, cross-functional security projects to successful completion.

• Excellent communication and leadership skills, capable of working with all levels within an organization, including executive leadership, to drive project and security objectives.

• Technical proficiency in forensic tools and analytical platforms

• A broad understanding of Email, Cloud and Endpoint Data Loss Prevention

• Strong email, email security, and messaging infrastructure project delivery experience; knowledge of archiving and supervision methodology a plus

• Adept at conflict resolution: This job entails working with a variety of people and personalities.

• Coding experience to help with data normalization, trending and reporting is a plus (Powershell, python, R, etc)

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets, and we pay differently based on those defined markets as set out below. Pay within these ranges varies and depends on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The actual offer will be based on the individual candidate. The range provided may represent a candidate range and may not reflect the full range for an individual tenured employee. This role may be eligible for variable pay and/or equity. We offer a competitive benefits package that includes flexible time off, a robust well-being program that provides for 4 global wellbeing days per year, and a 3-week work from anywhere option.

Base Pay Ranges:

SF Bay Area, New York City Metro Area:

Base Pay Range: 105,420.00 - 165,660.00 USD

California (excludes SF Bay Area), Colorado, Connecticut, Illinois, Washington DC Metro, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Texas, Washington, Virginia, and Alaska:

Base Pay Range: 88,340.00 - 138,820.00 USD

All other cities and states excluding those listed above:

Base Pay Range: 79,170.00 - 124,410.00 USD
