French American + International is a PK-12 independent school in San Francisco.  Founded in 1962, the school is a multicultural, multilingual educational institution with over 1,100 students across an urban campus in the heart of the city.

Position Overview: 

S tarting in August 2024 , we seek a dynamic School Administrative Support. This full-time position reports to the Lower School Assistant Principal and is based on our Oak Campus. This position provides an excellent opportunity to learn about independent school culture. The ideal candidate would be proficient or fluent in French.

 

Key Responsibilities :

  • Establish a positive relationship with all members of our school community 

  • Greet and direct all visitors and families who enter the Oak Campus

  • Answer and screen all phone calls and direct them to the appropriate person

  • Keep track of and record all attendance, and communicate with faculty and families regarding any specific situation concerning attendance

  • Assist families with late drop-off and early pickups of students 

  • Provide support to the Lower School office with supplies orders

  • Distribute all mail  

  • Assist the Lower School office with data entry, filing, field trip organization, events and other clerical tasks as needed  

  • Communicate effectively with parents and guardians 

  • Complete other professional responsibilities as assigned by the Lower School Administrative team

  • Support school wide operations

  • Other duties as assigned

     

    Qualifications:

  • Proficiency or fluency in French preferred, with the ability to communicate effectively in both French and English. 

  • Excellent phone and reception skills  

  • Strong interpersonal skills and strong attention to detail  

  • Ability to provide a high level of customer service  

  • Ability to prioritize and manage simultaneous demands with a willing, friendly attitude  

  • Effective collaboration skills with all members of our community

  • Strong organizational and computer skills

  • Ability to meet deadlines and be proactive

  • Previous experience in independent schools or nonprofits preferred  

  • A demonstrated commitment to The International School of San Francisco’s mission and values  

  • An appreciation and understanding of other cultures

  • Must be authorized to work in the United States

     

    The rate of pay for this position is $25.00-$32.00 per hour, depending upon experience and qualifications.
