About the Team

As a potential job applicant at Nutanix, you would be joining the Core Data Path Team (CDP Team) responsible for the Nutanix Distributed Storage Fabric. The team, although dispersed throughout the US and APAC regions, is tightly knit and works collaboratively to tackle the challenges of designing and developing an enterprise-grade distributed file system. Technology enthusiasts will find a stimulating environment, working extensively with C++, operating systems, databases, and distributed systems to enhance performance and scalability.

You will report to a Senior Technical Manager who will provide guidance and support as you navigate the intricacies of building a robust and high-performance metadata engine. The work setup at Nutanix is hybrid, with employees expected to be in the office for two days a week, fostering both collaboration and flexibility. As for travel requirements, there are none, allowing you to focus on your work without the added stress of frequent travel.

Your Role

  • Design and develop reliable, efficient, high-performance data-path software for large-scale enterprise and hybrid cloud.

  • Develop an understanding of complex distributed systems and design innovative solutions based on customer requirements.

  • Work on performance, scaling out, and resiliency of distributed storage systems.

  • Work alongside development, test, documentation, and product management teams to deliver high-quality products in a fast-paced environment.

  • Engage with customers and support when needed to solve production issues.

  • Generate code to enhance product features and increase functionality

  • Exposure to cloud infrastructure, database systems, distributed storage, etc.

What You Will Bring

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science or a related engineering field

  • Experience with OS internals, distributed systems and good practices for design/implementation.

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

  • Passion for cutting-edge innovation and technology

  • Ability to design and develop high-performance data-path software

  • Understanding of complex distributed systems

  • Experience with performance, scaling out, and resiliency of distributed storage systems

  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between USD $ 100,000 and USD $ 200,400 per year.

However, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a sign-on bonus, restricted stock units, and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.

If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
