Amazon Senior UX Researcher, AWS Industry Products in San Jose, California
Description
Amazon is seeking a Senior User Researcher to obtain impactful, actionable, and scalable research insights. You will work closely with product stakeholders and end users to ensure that new products, features, and enhancements are rooted in customer needs, while delivering the level of UX excellence that is expected.
Key job responsibilities
The person for this role will dive deep to obtain the elusive insights that inform a product innovation process that solves the kind of intractible problems that are preventing entire industries from digitally transforming.
This role will be responsible for discovery research and developing a deep understanding of who our customers are, how they work, and the logic behind their implicit needs. This position requires the capacity to work quickly while delivering high-quality outputs.
A day in the life
In our organization, the researcher will be empowered (and expected) to drive critical business decisions, will meet regularly with executives and senior leaders, and use deep understanding to inform new product innovation. A demonstrated history of excellent communication and writing skills are required.

Basic Qualifications
7+ years proven success leading User Research projects with demonstrated impact
BS in HCDE, Human Factors, Cognitive Psychology, or similar
Portfolio demonstrating past work experience and deliverables (eg: study plans, reports)
Preferred Qualifications
MS in Human Factors, HCDE, or Cognitive Psychology
German language skills sufficient to conduct user research in German
Familiarity with the technical considerations involved in designing for complex systems
Proficiency with web standards and accessibility compliance
Experience working in a collaborative environment where some collaborators are remote and some are in-person

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $137,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $226,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
