Mgr Regulatory Affairs

Location: This is a virtual position, however as we have entered a hybrid workforce strategy, the candidate is required to live within the region of Puerto Rico and be able to participate in an onsite training and/or meetings on Carelon's Office Building located in PR-San Juan, 654 Ave Munoz Rivera as requested.

S chedule: This position will work a first shift but must be flexible to the US States time zones that the unit will be supporting.

The Mgr Regulatory Affairs manages team responsible for regulatory research and monitoring, policy and procedure development, and regulatory filings.

How you will make an impact

Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Oversees preparation and submission of regulatory filings, including license applications and renewals, data reports, and material change notifications.

  • Supports market conduct exam activities.

  • May interact with state regulators within assigned areas of responsibility.

  • Ensures regulatory interpretations, policies, and procedures are consistent across company and its subsidiaries, and that policies and procedures are written in concise and accurate language.

  • Leads efforts to coordinate with accreditation, quality management, clinical adherence, and operational areas to ensure department output is in alignment with company’s overall objectives.

  • Hires, trains, coaches, counsels, and evaluates performance of direct reports.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Requires a BA/BS and minimum of 5 years related experience in health insurance and regulatory compliance; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.

Preferred Skills, Capabilities, and Experiences:

  • Legal training and education preferred.

  • Knowledge of applicable accreditation requirements preferred.

  • Fully Bilingual (English & Spanish), Must be able to write, read and speak both languages in a proficiency level.
