Eaton’s Corporate Sector division is currently seeking a Especialista en Tratados de Libre Comercio.

Job summary

The GTM CoE FTA Analyst is responsible to minimaze the duty payment on Eaton's operation by maximizing the use of Free Trade Agreements available for the organizations that the GTM MX CoE provides support to..This responsabilities will be met by performing free-trade agreement (FTA) analysis and proofs of origin solicitations for treaties like USMCA, MX-Colombia, EU-MX, KORUS,US-ISRAEL, among others. The candidate for this role should be able to maintain preferential status for raw materials in SAP - GTS, issue certifications of origin, update master databases, schedule, lead and follow up meetings with the businesses and deliver monthly KPI's for the operation. Also, the person in this role should be able to stablish business relationships with the persons that manage the business & engage with Eaton's delivery times, customs compliance and quality standards. This corporate position reports to the GTM CoE FTA Team Leader.

Job responsibilities

  1. Execute FTA solicitation and qualification for treaties like: USMCA, MX-Colombia, EU-MX, Korus, US-Israel, etc.,

  2. Ensure all necessary documentation to support the certifications of origin issuance and refound projects is retained according to the Record Keeping internal process to guarantee full compliance.

  3. Ability to explain the application of rules of origin according to what is stated in the FTA's to internal customers in order to provide full detail on why an item qualifies or does not qualify for the evaluated treaty.

  4. Carry out qualification projects by achieving delivery due dates and enhance open and clear communication on the status of each assigned task with the GTM leadership staff and businesses.

  5. Communicate on time the monthly results and KPI’s to minimize the risks related with the application of treaties.

  6. Keep informed about business projects and import-export operation changes to identify potential risks that could affect the certification of origin process and communicate them accordingly to the GTM leadership staff to evaluate and minimize it.

  7. Adopt Eaton's safety culture, clean working environment, life Saving Rules, and daily 5S+ requirements to guarantee a zero incident culture.

  8. Perform all job functions with adherence to Eaton's Philosophy & Values.

  9. Create and keep updated standard processes documentation such as Working Instructions & Standard Works among others.

  10. Lead meetings with different stakeholders as well as demonstrate active participation on internal meetings & trainings.

Qualifications:

Education level required

  • Bachelor’s degree required.

Years and area of experience required

  • One to three years of experience in Free Trade Agreements area.

Technical knowledge

  • FTA Qualification Analysis and classification Skills.

  • Understanding on rules of origin interpretation & application (Tariff shift & RV), as well as domain on the qualification methods like De Minimis

  • Desirable domain on SAP-GTS.

  • Knowledge of U.S. and Mexican Government Import Regulations.

  • Advance English (Spoken, written, listening)

  • Microsoft Suite skills required.

  • Desirable knowledge in problem solving methodology and CI tools.
