Intel AI PC Performance Engineer in Santa Clara, California

Job Description

Our team is looking for highly motivated Software Engineers with strong backgrounds in performance analysis and optimization of AI application and workloads to help ensure Intel platforms deliver the best user experience. We work with partners internally and across the industry to drive the development of representative metrics, which Intel's design teams use to build the best possible products for our customers. We also help third party application vendors and open source projects take full advantage of new Intel platform features. Our work is varied, highly technical and gives opportunity for wide exposure.

Qualifications

An ideal candidate for this role should have some or all of:

  • Excellent personal, communication and collaboration skills.

  • Broad experience and excellent software engineering skills (at least C/C++ and Python) and experience working on large software projects; demonstrated open-source record is a plus.

  • Demonstrable hands-on experience developing with or contributing to at least one AI software stack or framework; more than one is a plus.

  • Practical knowledge of modern deep learning algorithms, publicly available models and their characteristics.

  • Demonstrable hands-on experience with performance analysis tools.

  • In-depth knowledge of (one or more): CPU, GPU, NPU or SoC-level architecture; demonstrated record of driving improvements in instruction set or micro-architecture is a plus.

  • A reading-level knowledge of a modern x86 and/or ARM instruction set and their SIMD extensions, or any other IP-level command set.

  • Ability and willingness to learn quickly and explore new areas out of established zones of expertise.

Annual Salary Range for jobs which could be performed in US, California: $225,175.00-$359,585.00

*Salary range dependent on a number of factors including location and experience

Working Model

This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site. In certain circumstances the work model may change to accommodate business needs.
