The UX Engineering group at ServiceNow is growing rapidly and is looking for a talented and experienced director to join and lead a team of engineers working on a low-code UX Framework which allows our customers to easily create robust and delightful UI experiences for their end users. You will help to drive work on a metadata-based UX Framework to enable next-generation experience building and runtime capabilities on the NOW platform for both internal and external customers. You will lead multiple teams of full-stack software engineers responsible for core features of the UX Framework which includes metadata modeling of UI screens using reusable components, rendering screens based on metadata, routing, design time data definitions, runtime time data execution and data binding, and runtime caching.

The team primarily partners with ServiceNow core platform teams, application teams, UX component teams, product teams, QE teams, and technical support teams for successful delivery of features and releases to our customers.

What you get to do in this role:

  • Drive the execution, delivery, and architecture of UX Framework features which empower customers to configure and build UI experiences with ease for their end users by collaborating with cross-functional teams, architects, product owners, quality engineers, and software development engineers.

  • Drive resolution of customer reported issues by working closely with the technical support organization and software development engineers.

  • Partner with product managers to drive vision for the product.Provide technical guidance, career development, and mentoring to team members to elevate and empower the team to go above and beyond.

To be successful in this role you have:

  • Experience working on and leading enterprise application software development teams; in particular, experience working on development of software platforms which enable application development (leading multiple teams and 5+ years in a leadership role is a plus)

  • Experience in the following technical areas: Java, JavaScript, UI Frameworks/Front-end development (React is a plus), REST services.

  • Working experience of software engineering best practices including coding standards, code reviews, build processes and testing.

  • Ability to make continuous improvements in the team through small and iterative changes.

  • Strong knowledge of engineering design patters, processes, and best practices

  • Willingness to work hands-on with the team to troubleshoot customer issues, defects, and architect solutions to features and problems.

  • A strong focus on business outcomes and the ability to work cross-functionally to achieve business outcomes.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and excellent organization and time management skills.

For positions in the Bay Area, we offer a base pay of $198,500 - $347,500, plus equity (when applicable), variable/incentive compensation and benefits. Sales positions generally offer a competitive On Target Earnings (OTE) incentive compensation structure. Please note that the base pay shown is a guideline, and individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies and work location. We also offer health plans, including flexible spending accounts, a 401(k) Plan with company match, ESPP, matching donations, a flexible time away plan and family leave programs (subject to eligibility requirements). Compensation is based on the geographic location in which the role is located, and is subject to change based on work location.
