TEKsystems Customer Service Representative in Santa Paula, California

Description:

We are looking for a customer service representative for our fast-paced office from 8am to 5 pm Mon through Fri to take on various tasks. This is for someone who has attention to detail, is excellent at multi-tasking, is able to adapt to ever-changing priorities and deadlines, is a self-starter who is also able to work in a team, and has great people skills to assist customers as well as coworkers. The successful candidate will be computer literate and have experience with phones, billing, and email.

Training is provided for using our proprietary computer program to generate data reports and invoices and for using third-party billing platforms.

While this position falls under the category of Customer Service Representative, in many ways, this is different from the usual Customer Service position as we are a company that is anything but typical. We are a certified environmental analytical laboratory whose client base, in this specific department, includes those from private citizens to government and military agencies. Most of their work is regulator-driven, and it is their regulators who define the specific time frames in which their work must be done with results reported back to them. Failure to comply with the specifics of their required testing and deadlines can cause them to be fined and/or shut down completely. It is vital that we, as the laboratory, help our clients meet the requirements placed upon them so there is a sense of urgency behind what we do. This part of our company has much to do with environmental and drinking water safety.

We provide on-the-job training with shadowing and then hands-on tasks. Therefore, we are looking for someone with a strong sense of professionalism who is adept and comfortable with note-taking, as there is a lot of information to learn. There is a language to our industry that we will learn, as well as an understanding of the regulator requirements and our own internal requirements. This is a fast-paced office, so a good candidate must be comfortable with multi-tasking and is highly adaptable to ever-changing priorities. When at work, it is important that their main focus is on work and the tasks at hand. It is important they have great communication skills with customers, coworkers, and superiors. They must be growth-minded and eager to learn new things. We need someone who embraces productivity and efficiency and who is open to constructive criticism in an effort to grow and better understand the job. It is important that they care about the quality of their output and have an honest and responsible work ethic. In other words, a candidate with an innate core value of a great sense of integrity for their work.

About us: We have been serving agricultural and environmental clients, providing water, soil, and plant analyses throughout California since 1925. We have five (5) laboratories located in Santa Paula, Stockton, San Luis Obispo, Visalia, and Chico and is a financially stable company with a family-type working atmosphere.
