This is an exciting opportunity for a self-motivated, hardworking individual, with experience in the building and construction trades, gas and diesel equipment maintenance, strong communication skills to fill the position of OPS Maintenance Mechanic at Grayton Beach State Park.

Pay:

Base pay: $15.00 per hour

Your Specific Responsibilities:

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Compliance with the processing requirements of Chapter 215.422, F.S. is mandatory. Persistent failure to comply with this section by any agency of the state shall constitute good cause for discharge of employees duly found responsible, or predominantly responsible, for failure to comply.

MAINTENANCE

Performs and assists in the supervision of repairs, maintenance and construction of park buildings and facilities. Performs and assists in the supervision of maintenance and repairs of vehicles, equipment and facilities in the park. Operates all park maintenance equipment.

ADMINISTRATION

Accurately prepares various reports, logs and schedules. Estimates materials and obtains bids to secure materials for repair, maintenance and upkeep of park facilities, equipment and vehicles.

Performs other related duties as required.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

KNOWLEDGE OF:

  • principles and techniques of the skilled building trades and/or mechanical repair work

  • safety procedures required in maintenance and repair work

    SKILL IN:

  • using various tools and equipment in maintenance and repair work.

    ABILITY TO:

  • read blueprints

  • install, maintain and repair electric motors, generators and other mechanical equipment

  • follow verbal and written instructions

  • coordinate work assignments and ensure proper completion

  • determine work priorities

  • maintain a valid driver’s license

    Minimum Qualifications:

  • Valid driver’s license.
