Amazon Brazil Trade & Product Compliance Manager, Global Trade Services in Sao Paulo, Brazil

The successful candidate shows excellent judgment and instincts in decision making and proactively and continually improves their level of knowledge about Amazon’s business, its systems, and relevant technologies. This is an exciting and challenging position that provides Trade and Product Compliance support around imported products. You will enable business opportunities by executing on a broad range of product compliance matters. You will work directly with business leadership, legal, tax and a variety of internal and external business partners to drive product compliance across the supply chain. You will set policies and implement processes to ensure compliance with applicable product compliance regulations covering a broad range of consumer products.

Key job responsibilities

  • Work with Amazon’s Global Trade and Product Compliance and Legal teams to define requirements, develop large scale project plans, set policies and work cross-functionally to drive multiple-system impacting workstreams

  • Collaborate with Amazon’s Global Product Compliance to establish and implement processes to execute against established policies.

  • Work with technology stakeholders to drive efficiencies and scale through technology solutions.

  • Partner with Legal, Tax and Public Policy teams to participate in proposed new regulations.

  • Partner with service leaders across Amazon to identify and influence the development of new programs/products and services

Basic Qualifications

  • 6+ years of compliance, audit or risk management experience

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office products and applications at an advanced level

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent

  • 5+ years of experience with Brazilian product safety / consumer compliance regulations.

  • Proficiency with implementing processes to comply with regulatory requirements

  • Deep knowledge of Brazilian regulatory requirements for at least one product category.

  • Ability to demonstrate sound judgment even in ambiguous situations

  • Fluent in English

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong analytical and computer skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent certification

  • Experience leveraging technology and implementing lean principles / Six Sigma methodologies to drive process improvements or equivalent

  • Master's degree or equivalent

  • Retail industry experience
