The Amazon LATAM Carpool BizOps team is looking for a talented, smart, and experienced Business Intelligence Engineer to help us build exceptional tools to generate insights and drive business decisions in the LATAM Retail space.

Joining our team means partnering with a dynamic and creative group who set a high bar for innovation and success in a fast-paced and changing environment. We are hiring a Business Intelligence Engineer to own a business Chapter which is an exciting opportunity to be involved from design-to-execution. As a Business Intelligence Engineer you will be working in one of the world's largest and most complex data warehouse environments. In this role, you will primarily work on designing and building automated reporting and dashboards using complex data. As a BI Engineer, you will operate as a mix of hands-on builder and influencer.

The team’s success depends on our ability to create actionable insight from the data that we and our partners generate. The ideal BIE candidate will have excellent analytical abilities, business acumen, high judgment, strong technical skills, and good written and verbal communication skills. This person will be a self-starter, comfortable with ambiguity, able to think big and be creative (while paying careful attention to detail), and enjoys working in a fast-paced dynamic environment. To be successful in this role, you should have broad skills in data, be comfortable dealing with large and complex data sets, while applying analytical rigor to solve business problems.

Basic Qualifications

  • Experience in analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc.

  • Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools

  • Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines

  • Experience in Statistical Analysis packages such as R, SAS and Matlab

  • Experience using SQL to pull data from a database or data warehouse and scripting experience (Python) to process data for modeling

  • Advanced English

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with AWS solutions such as EC2, DynamoDB, S3, and Redshift

  • Experience in data mining, ETL, etc. and using databases in a business environment with large-scale, complex datasets
