Position Responsibilities

Provide domain leadership:

  • Support the IT/Digital strategy: develop and implement multi-year strategic digital capability roadmaps that align with business and IT priorities. Manage portfolio budgets and ensure investments deliver maximum value.

  • Develop compelling business cases: Lead the creation of strong business cases for digital investments, ensuring alignment with platform strategy and business outcomes.

  • Design Solutions: Craft innovative solutions to business challenges, leveraging external trends and technology advancements.

  • Bring an external view: Actively maintain awareness of external drivers in the business domain and relevant technology trends, bringing innovative ideas.

  • Manages Risk : Proactively monitor risks and ensure business continuity in the face of challenges.

Provide leadership:

  • Build strong partnerships: Establish yourself as a trusted partner to business leaders, delivering digital capabilities that support strategic goals.

  • Be a Thought Leader : Influence strategic thinking and help business leaders integrate future digital capabilities into their plans.

  • Own the relationship: Foster effective working relationships with business teams and take accountability for delivering IT value propositions.

  • Drive change: Lead business change management efforts to maximize the value of digital investments.

Leverage the Matrix Organization:

  • Demonstrate Matrix leadership : Ensure successful delivery of IT services through effective matrix management.

  • Empower Shared IT teams: Build trusting partnerships with IT team members and communicate effectively to manage expectations.

  • Act Boldly with Urgency: Address challenges head-on to remove roadblocks and drive value delivery.

  • Advocate for operational excellence: Identify improvement opportunities and provide constructive feedback to service managers.

Desired Experience

Required:

  • Strong business knowledge and professional presence with stakeholders.

  • Proven ability to plan and implement digital capabilities strategically.

  • Experience with governance operations and timely customer response.

  • Expertise in IT management, project and portfolio assessment, and business case development.

  • Proficiency in business process analysis and improvement.

  • Fluent in English (speaking, listening, and writing).

Ideal Candidates Would Also Have:

  • A growth mindset and eagerness to develop within the role.

  • Financial experience with budget management and business case development.

  • A strong drive to explore cutting-edge business solutions, including AI, ML, and GenAI.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead or collaborate on complex digital projects.

  • Excellent communication and influence skills with business leaders.

  • Ability to work across boundaries and time zones within a matrix structure.

  • Understanding of Omni-channel concepts and technology for digital customer engagement.

Other Qualifications:

  • Preferred 5+ years of experience.

  • Comfort with matrix management in delivering digital capabilities.

  • Familiarity with the pharmaceutical industry lifecycle and commercial processes.

  • Experience with Data & Analytics implementations and management.

  • Experience with Digital Marketing capabilities and campaign management.

  • Spanish language fluency is a plus.

On-site Protocol

BMS has a diverse occupancy structure that determines where an employee is required to conduct their work. This structure includes site-essential, site-by-design, field-based and remote-by-design jobs. The occupancy type that you are assigned is determined by the nature and responsibilities of your role:

Site-essential roles require 100% of shifts onsite at your assigned facility. Site-by-design roles may be eligible for a hybrid work model with at least 50% onsite at your assigned facility. For these roles, onsite presence is considered an essential job function and is critical to collaboration, innovation, productivity, and a positive Company culture.
