BluePearl Veterinary Technician- Hospital Floater in Sarasota, Florida
BluePearl Pet Hospital is hiring a Veterinary Technician Hospital Floater to support our Cardio, Internal Medicine, Surgery, Ophthalmology, and Emergency departments!

As a Veterinary Technician Hospital Floater, you will:
Triage and obtain patient history
Identify patients at risk for arrest and initiate CPR
Place IVC's and advanced catheters like Jugular catheters, Central Lines or PICC lines.
Monitor and care for Ventilator Cases.
Proper restraint and patient handling.
You proficiently perform digital radiographs.
Ability to run samples in-house (i.e lab machines, blood smears, cytology, pcv/ts, etc.)
Place peripheral intravenous catheter in cephalic vein.
Perform physical exam; accurately counts heart, pulse rate, capillary refill time, mucous membranes, temperature, respiratory rate and effort.
Identify patients at risk for arrest and initiate CPR.
Properly calculate medical math (including constant rate infusions) and administer medications via appropriate routes and duration.
Set up and administer intravenous and subcutaneous fluids
Ability to take patient through entire procedure from start to finish (pre-op, monitoring, post-op, and recovery)
Set up and assist with endoscopic procedures (GI, nasal, urinary, airway). Clean and maintain equipment following procedure.
Client education and reviewing discharge instructions.
Work alongside other skilled technicians and assistants in providing excellent, advanced medicine to your patients
Have a passion for mentoring and training other co-workers.
Feel gratification of nursing critically ill patients back to health and reunite them with their pet parents
