What’s a typical day as a Structural Mechanic? You’ll be:

• Performing assembly and fitting of detail parts and structures, including drilling and riveting operations, to ensure they meet requirements.

• Riveting structural assemblies and parts using various tools, such as portable riveting guns, pneumatic drills, and rivet shavers.

• Reading work orders, blueprints, sketches, and operation sheets to determine the sequence of operations and hole patterns for rivets.

• Checking all work and ensuring defect-free assembly prior to final inspection.

• Maintaining and using all necessary logs and records, such as MIR sheets and PCOs.

• Aligning and assembling parts using jigs, fixtures, pins, clamps, and fasteners.

• Making necessary repairs and performing rework to ensure installations meet conformity.

• Maintaining a neat and orderly work area, supporting the company's 5S Program, and complying with all safety regulations.

• Working with minimal supervision on assigned duties and tasks.

• Supporting Lean Activities.

• Performing other duties as assigned.

This job might be an outstanding fit if you:

• Have a High School Diploma or GED.

• Have a minimum of 2 years of related structural assembly experience.

• Have experience working with Solumina and Smarteam (preferred).

• Are able to read and interpret blueprints.

• Are skilled in close tolerance work and knowledgeable in the use of special tools and equipment.

• Are proficient in mathematical formulas and solving dimensional problems.

• Have basic computer skills.

• Are able to read a scale and perform basic shop math.

• Are able to comprehend basic documents and instructions.

• Have essential personal skills, including an aptitude for hands-on craftwork, a professional attitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work with people and meet demanding schedules.

• Practice good housekeeping and safety practices.

• Are able to work with composite resins and materials.

• Are able to lift up to 50 lbs.

• Are able to work any shift.

• Are able to climb ladders/stands/stairs and work in small spaces and/or restricted areas.
