Hybrid , Monday – Friday, 8:00AM – 5:00PM

Annual Salary Range – $100,000 - $140,000

The salary or hourly wage scale provided reflects the pay range DSM expects to pay the successful candidate for the position. Individual pay offered will be based on the applicant’s job-related skills, experience, relevant education, or training, and primary work location. This position is also eligible for bonuses and benefits, which are not included in the pay scale provided.

As a Quality Assurance Manager, you will be responsible to coordinate all routine Quality Assurance processes and product release priority management (incl. internal communication to internal stakeholders) in HNC (Human Nutrition) Premix in North America to ensure high customer satisfaction with Quality Standards and Delivery Performance. This role is directly responsible for Quality Assurance employees in Schenectady (NY) and Ontario (CA). You will ensure all routine Quality Assurance (QA) activities in HNC Premix NA adhere to the Quality Principles of dsm-firmenich. You will implement the relevant dsm-firmenich policies and guidelines that support the dsm-firmenich values and requirements in line with local legislation. You will also maintain and develop GMP compliance of Dry Premix sites SCH & ONT.

Responsibilities:

  • Leads the Operational Quality Assurance team (approx. 6 team members) to ensure efficient and compliant routine Quality Processes – process owner for all routine QA procedures. (Including the ownership of relevant SOPs)

  • Ensure adequate and sufficiently trained resources in the Operational QA team. Develops the Operational QA team by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training of employees.

  • Responsible for the following key Quality Processes: Product release process, Investigation process for routine OOS (out of specification) events, Close involvement & collaboration with QC to ensure effective investigations and timely release of products, Escalation & involvement of strategic QA team for challenging & systematic investigations, Product release delay communication to internal stakeholders, (Supply chain, Logistics, Customer Service, Account Manager) Product release priority management (incl. escalated investigations), Establishing communication tools to ensure efficient communication, Ensure 4-eyes principles are adhered to for critical quality tasks, Support strategic QA team in systematic investigations, Support strategic QA team in routine Tech Transfer processes, Responsible for further routine QA activates such as Document Request support (CRM), Batch release, rework processes, customer complaint support, stability and homogeneity studies, dietary supplement documentation procedures, specification updates, etc.

  • Act and behave as an inspirational leader to develop Quality culture by connecting and engaging widely with people on sites. Report problems and challenges as they arise.   • Ensure compliance of the Quality organization to legal and dsm-firmenich SHE and Security requirements. Actively focuses on improvement of safety culture in the department.

  • Intervene directly to unsafe acts or conditions (Quality and SHE). In the event of unsafe behaviors or actions, expected to interrupt work. Contribute to larger site initiatives as required.

    This position embraces a Hybrid Working model, offering the flexibility of both office and remote work. Initially you'll be on-site for 5 days a week, transitioning gradually to 1-2 days in your home office once you’re fully acclimated.

    You Bring :

  • Bachelor of Science degree in a relevant scientific discipline. (Life science / related science (Chemistry, Pharmacy, Biochemistry, Food & Beverage, Medical Engineering).

  • Preference of 8 years in Quality Management in Food & Beverage / Pharmaceutical / Dietary Supplements / Nutrition Ingredients.

  • Demonstrated knowledge / experience in working of cGMP/ICH/FDA regulations preferred; good knowledge in effectively implementing routine Quality processes.

  • Progressive experience in managing people and multiple functions in Quality including leading Quality teams.

  • Highly collaborative team player who fosters open communication and facilitates mutual understanding and cooperation between all stakeholders.

  • Refined critical thinking skills, with an emphasis on flexibility and risk-based, phase-appropriate approaches to problem-solving.
