Marine Engineer/Naval Architect

Job Description

As a Marine Engineer, your primary responsibility is to act as an independent Marine Engineer on projects. You will contribute to delivering Marine Systems designs, with a focus on FPSOs and potentially Floating LNG products.

Requirements:

  • We are seeking candidates with an MSc or BSc degree, or equivalent (such as Professional Certification), in Marine Engineering, Process Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Higher Seafaring College, or General Operational Technology (AOT).

  • You should have at least 2 years of experience in Marine Systems Engineering and Design, preferably in the Pre-FEED, FEED, and Detailed phases.

Qualifications are desired:

  • Experience and technical knowledge in the conceptual and detailed design of marine and production systems for floating and production units in the Oil & Gas Industry.

  • Good interface knowledge with related disciplines such as Naval, E&I, Piping, HVAC, Process, Technical Safety & Regulatory.

  • Preferably, experience with shipyards, shipboard operation, marine equipment vendors, and manufacturers.

  • Experience in Engineering & Design and/or operation of LNG carriers is preferred.

  • Familiarity with the latest marine systems and equipment technology, including the ability to specify and assess equipment suitability while considering technological advancement and commercial awareness.

  • Familiarity with rules of classification societies (e.g., ABS, DNV GL, BV, Lloyds) and international organizations, as well as the implementation of HSSE policies.

  • Experience with review methods such as HAZID, HAZOP, SIL, LOPA HP/LP Reports, SIF Reports, etc.

What can you expect for:

You are paid a competitive hourly rate every 4 weeks, which equals 13 salary payments.

Hybrid work model (3 days in the office, 2 days at home)

  • You receive a commuting allowance of .21 cents per kilometer.

  • You are eligible for statutory sick leave.

  • You have 200 hours of vacation time in addition to the statutory Dutch Holidays which are fully paid, in addition to the vacation hours.

Relocation package:

If you are from outside of the Netherlands, we offer a relocation package.

This package includes us applying for your visa, your 30% ruling, and flying costs.

Additionally, you receive 10 days in a hotel, and we introduce you to a real estate agent to help you find a house.
