The Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) is currently seeking an Oil and Gas Inspector to join our team.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK In this role, your primary responsibilities include conducting inspections of oil and gas wells at various stages, documenting and analyzing the collected information, and taking necessary actions based on the findings.  During these inspections, you will be required to meticulously record and document all relevant information. You will also report any issues that arise and work with on-site operators to resolve violations and maintain compliance with regulations. The scope of your inspections will encompass a wide range of areas, including coal and non-coal regions, conservation wells, observation wells, and gas storage reservoirs. It is important to note that these inspections will be conducted at various stages, such as drilling, production, alteration, and plugging. By diligently carrying out these inspections and adhering to established protocols, you will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with regulations and maintaining the integrity of the oil and gas industry. Your attention to detail and commitment to upholding the highest standards will contribute to the overall success of the monitoring and compliance efforts in your assigned geographic area.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

Full-time employment Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch. Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) full-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Scranton. Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. Most selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $58,035.00 (before taxes). QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

Three years of technical experience in well design, drilling, completion, production, plugging, or underground storage operations in the oil or natural gas industry; or An associate's degree in Petroleum Technology or closely related field, and one year of technical experience in well design, drilling, completion, production, plugging, or underground storage operations in the oil or natural gas industry. Special Requirements:

This position requires possession of a valid driver's license.
