DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Social Worker Supervisor, you are responsible for social work services delivered to the residents of the Gino Merli Veterans Center and are the lead worker of the Social Services Department.

Duties include the planning, directing, and controlling of departmental operations by establishing goals and objectives, establishing departmental policies, and assessing productivity. You convey these to departmental staff to keep them remain informed.

You actively participate in our residents stay from pre-admission through discharge. These duties include providing tours of the facility to potential and new residents and family members, guiding new admissions through the process, acting as a member of the Interdisciplinary Team to discuss resident needs based on assessment, and processing discharges from the facility, ensuring policy and procedure are followed.

  • Full-time employment, 37.5-hour work week. 
  • Work hours are 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year of experience as a Social Worker 2 or a Forensic Social Worker 2; and a master's degree in social work or social welfare; or
  • Three years of professional social work experience, including one year in a consultative, administrative, advisory, or lead work capacity; and a master's degree in social work or social welfare.

* * *Condition of Employment:*

  • You must possess a valid license as a Licensed Social Worker or Licensed Clinical Social Worker issued by the Pennsylvania State Board of Social Workers, Marriage and Family Therapists and Professional Counselors.

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

      *Legal Requirements: *

  • A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination and a drug screening.

  • This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.

    • Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
