UW Medical Center-Montlake has a opportunity for a Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) for our Level IV Neonatal ICU.

The CNS contributes to advancement of nursing practice and continuous improvement of patient care through:

  • Clinical support

  • Education

  • Research

  • Organizational support

  • Professional advancement.The CNS is accountable to be responsive to the dynamic needs of the organization, nursing staff and patients within the changing health care environment. What our Clinical Nurse Specialist do: (but not limited to)

  • Provides leadership to nursing team members.

  • Serves as role model and resource.

  • Is a Clinical Expert.

  • Develops and evaluates educational materials for patients/care givers.

  • Helps in the development of policies of evidence based practice.

  • Assists with projects and programs focused on quality and patient safety

  • Leads interdisciplinary groups to implement innovative patient care programs.

  • Foster relationship with other members of the CNS UW Medical Center team.

  • Maintains knowledge of current practices. Schedule: 90% Day Shift Requirements:

  • Master of Nursing or higher.

  • Graduated from and accredited school of Nursing.

  • Licensed to practice in the state of WA as an RN.

  • Four or more years of experience.

  • Two or more years of recent NICU experience.
