Amazon Customer Reference Manager, Global Cutomer References in Seattle, Washington

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a creative, organized, and self-directed Customer References Manager to support our key reference activities including case studies, video testimonials, customer speakers, and more.

The AWS Global Customer References (GCRP) Team is responsible for telling the story of how cloud technology is transforming the world—from the largest enterprises to the hottest startups. The Customer Reference manager will be responsible for writing and editing and maintaining high standards in the organization’s communications.

In this role, you’ll work with the global customer references team and stakeholders across the business as well as our customers to publish high-value stories. This person will dive into reference written content, spoken word content, and the AWS style. This role will help with the storytelling creation from helping to script interviews to reviewing final case studies.

The successful candidate must be able to understand our AWS messaging in order to ensure it is represented across our customer references. This person must have a passion for technology, an entrepreneurial spirit, and experience in marketing, PR, or communications. They will be self-directed, yet equally comfortable contributing and collaborating within a global team environment. A strong attention to detail and an unparalleled work ethic are musts. Impeccable organizational skills, the ability to zoom out, and attention to detail are all crucial to success.

With the ability to shape messaging and create compelling stories, this role will help bring to life the stories of our customers and help others up level their reference content.

Strong preference for this role to sit in Arlington, VA US, but open to sit in Seattle, WA US as well. Relocation offered to these locations only from within the US only.

Key job responsibilities

Develop written customer case studies, video testimonials, and other reference material.

Draft executive summaries, social media copy, and web copy.

Interview customers about their AWS use cases.

Raise the bar on content production at scale.

About the team

Sales, Marketing and Global Services (SMGS)

AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS) is responsible for driving revenue, adoption, and growth from the largest and fastest growing small- and mid-market accounts to enterprise-level customers including public sector.

Arlington, VA, USA | Seattle, WA, USA

Basic Qualifications

  • 4+ years of professional non-internship marketing experience

  • Experience using data and metrics to drive improvements

  • Experience building, executing and scaling cross-functional programs or marketing campaigns from concept to completion

  • Experience developing customer reference material.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience using customer research, hard data and metrics to back up assumptions, generate forecasts, and assess the efficacy of marketing programs

  • Experience with marketing strategies in online and mobile channels

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $72,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $155,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
