Blue Origin LLC Electrical Design Engineer, Instrumentation II in Seattle, Washington

This role is part of the Blue Origin Engines business unit, where our focus is the design and implementation of electronic control systems. Specifically, engine controller electronics and associated instrumentation sensors and actuators. This particular position targets engines powering human occupied vehicles. Built for multiple uses, our family of engines is powering the next generation of rockets for commercial, civil, national security and human spaceflight. We are looking for someone to apply their technical expertise, leadership skills, and commitment to quality to positively impact safe human spaceflight. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Support and become expert at the methodologies and circuits that implement precision electronic instrumentation measurements as used in rocket engine controllers. Work with power conversion circuits that drive electrical actuators (such as solenoids, servo-valves, etc.). Resolve engine controller electrical issues. This requires proficiency utilizing lab equipment. Document design issues discovered during controller qualification activities. Process and document non-conforming development issues. Assist functional testing and inspections of electronic assemblies at contract manufacturing (CM) sites. Minimum Qualifications: BS EE or related field (possibly Computer Engineering, Physics) 2+ years' experience performing electrical design of precision instrumentation measurement circuits. Knowledge of power conversion electronics as applied to servos and actuators. Expertise in digital electronics, especially embedded processor configurations. Proficiency in popular Electronic CAD packages (schematic entry, simulation) Hands-on lab debug skills. Proficient utilizing lab equipment and making measurements Excellent communication skills, written and verbal Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum. Preferred Qualifications: MS EE Experience with Aerospace electronic development Familiarity with DO-254 standards related to flight hardware.
