The Amazon's Enterprise Network and Automation team is looking to hire Network Engineers to help scale and automate deployment of one of the worlds largest and complex networks.

The Amazon's Enterprise provides mission-critical global connectivity for internal services and business applications, datacenter infrastructure equipment, and 1,000,000+ internal users. In this role you will look for innovative and creative ways to automate and scale our next-generation network architectures.

We are seeking an experienced Network Development Engineer to join a highly skilled team Enterprise Networking team that is able to design and automate the deployment of the next genertion networking products deployed to AWS Datacenters globally.

Key job responsibilities

As a Network Development Engineer working within AWS Infrastructure you will:

• Be responsible for automating the deployment of network infrastructure across all of our network fabrics that supports the Amazon Retail Service and AWS services.

• Identify automation opportunities and develop tooling and automation to increase scaling velocity and quality.

• Deploy, scale and automate our network across many global datacenters. This includes existing footprints and new locations.

• Create simple, repeatable deployment processes, and improve upon existing processes.

• Work closely with our Network/Systems/Software Engineering teams to ensure fast, smooth roll-out of new designs and products, as well as, assist with deployment and sustaining of networking software tools.

• Create and update our network standards and ensure that the network is deployed to these standards.

• Work closely with our automation teams in defining the platforms and frameworks that allow us to scale at unprecedented volume.

• Create and review documentation and process regarding network. implementation/deployments, recurring issues, new standard operating procedures, knowledge transfer material, etc.

Our ideal candidate is highly autonomous, possesses strong written and verbal communication skills, strong project management and time management skills and has a successful track record of designing simple, scalable solutions and troubleshooting complex network problems and delivering innovative solutions. The desire and ability to work in a fast paced, collaborative environment is essential.

About the team

As a part of Enterprise Network Systems & Automation team, we are responsible for end to end ownership of remote Enterprise networks. We own the network standards, deployment mechanisms, automation and delivery of large programs, including AWS transit gateway based networks that connect our traditional networks to Native AWS.

Basic Qualifications

  • 4+ years of major internet routing protocols experience

  • 4+ years of working in a Linux/Unix environment experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1+ years of automation scripting using Python, Bash, Shell and/or Perl experience

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $113,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $212,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
