Amazon Software Dev Engineer II, Prime Video Persona in Seattle, Washington

Description

The Prime Video Persona team is at the intersection of high volume distributed systems and machine learning. The team represents the critical piece of the customer understanding pillar of Prime Video upon which all storefront personalization is based. The team focuses on deriving and vending human understandable customer attributes based on ML models and heuristic algorithms (genre affinities, language preferences, etc.). We partner closely with our Applied Scientists on ML research, model evaluation and implementation. We then vend these attributes to personalization teams both inside and outside of Prime Video via our online systems at 50k+ TPS. This is an opportunity to become an expert in ML, while also owning a tier 1 scale system that literally impacts the experience of over 100MM people every month.

Prime Video offers customers a vast collection of movies, series, and sports—all available to watch on hundreds of compatible devices. U.S. Prime members can also subscribe to 100+ channels including Max, discovery+, Paramount+ with SHOWTIME, BET+, MGM+, ViX+, PBS KIDS, NBA League Pass, MLB.TV, and STARZ with no extra apps to download, and no cable required. More than 200 million Prime members in 25 countries around the world enjoy access to Amazon’s enormous selection, exceptional value, and fast delivery.

The Persona team is part of the Prime Video Personalization and Discovery org, who's mission is to show a customer the right video content, in the right place, at the right time. We tailor PV for a diverse and global audience, so customers world-wide with different tastes and backgrounds can find something to watch and enjoy on every visit. We delight Prime subscribers by leaning in to the Amazon originals and exclusives that shape our brand and differentiate us. We grow our relationships with customers by leveraging our deep understanding of them to provide relevant and timely recommendations. We believe the current customer experience is only scratching the surface of innovative experiences that are made possible as viewing continues to shift online, and that science is at the center of delivering a step-function change for our CX.
