The Amazon Pricing team is looking for a Senior Technical Program Manager to own the suite of projects leading to Customers finding great prices at Amazon. Our vision is that customers should find terrific prices. You will partner with science, software development, product and UX research teams to drive initiatives that will directly impact customer's experience of finding products at Amazon. This is a highly technical role in which you will tackle challenging, novel situations every day. You should be comfortable with a high degree of ambiguity and relish the idea of solving problems that haven't been solved at scale before. Successful candidates will have experience working in a high pace environment, have strong bias for action, and be comfortable in working in an ambiguous environment. Key job responsibilities

This Senior Technical Program Manager (TPM) position requires a program management background and direct experience developing relevant systems. You will create and drive high-level strategic initiatives, but will also roll up your sleeves and contribute directly. TPM anticipates bottlenecks, uses great judgment to make trade-offs, and balances the business needs with technical constraints. You will work closely within close-knit development teams within the Price Perception and Evaluation team, but also partner teams, to identify and prioritize needs, influence up and across the organization, and synthesize a variety of technologies and capabilities to deliver results. You will tackle complex challenges and break them down into actionable steps, to deliver the most trustworthy and delightful solutions to help Customers find great prices.

About the team

The WW Price Perception and Evaluation Team’s primary goal is to improve Customers’ perception of prices in Amazon’s stores. We improve Customer trust and Amazon’s price perception through consistently low and easy-to-understand pricing.

Our mission is to ensure that Amazon Customers can always easily find great prices when shopping in our store, and perceive Amazon as a great place to shop with consistently good prices.

Basic Qualifications

  • 4+ years of technical product or program management experience

  • 4+ years of technical program management working directly with software engineering teams experience

  • 3+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience

  • Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience

  • 3+ years of software development experience

  • Experience managing projects across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $119,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $231,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
