Uber Strategy & Planning Lead, People Organization in Seattle, Washington

About the Role

The Strategy & Planning Lead will work across the global people organization and Uber, to drive priorities to ultimately improve the company and provide a consistency in the caliber of its employee experience.

The role will work directly with the CHRO, VP of HR, and HR leaders in each region/ function on people initiatives, influencing the design of central people projects with COEs, and defining the strategy and execution of HR programs. Motivated to lead through challenges, this role will also be required to find creative solutions when faced with ambiguity, and demonstrated ability to move quickly as a builder and simplifer in a fast and growing environment.

What You'll Do

  • Drive the development of Uber's People organization strategic and operational priorities on behalf of VP of HR and CHRO's vision

  • Regularly set the agenda and operating structure to facilitate the execution of the vision and its deliverables for the People Infrastructure Team with VP of HR

  • Act as an active member of the People leadership teams

  • Lead the annual strategy and budget planning process of the global organization.

  • Actively influence COEs & be a strategic voice in key COE meetings: help the central teams' planning to incorporate multiple team / regional nuances and dependencies

  • Support ongoing special initiatives as needed; projects facing the Board of Directors, Executive Leadership Reviews, Quarterly business reviews etc.

  • Understand how HR processes work; use this deep understanding to change mindsets and behaviors where needed

  • Consult with the regional business leadership teams and HRBPs on business and regionally relevant subjects across the spectrum of HR topics including but not limited to DEI, Hybrid Work, Performance Management, Employee Engagements, Rewards, Succession Planning, Talent Management, etc.

  • Focus on continuous improvement by questioning the status quo and proactively finding opportunities to scale and optimize efficiency and effectiveness of our HR engagement model with the business and well as our people processes

Basic Qualifications

  • Minimum 10-15+ years of work experience in progressively senior roles with demonstrable track record in driving HR transformation at a scale

  • Experience in working with senior leadership to drive strategic HR topics across multiple business and functions at a regional/global level

  • 5-7 years Experience as an HRBP Leader and experience within business operations role or as a management consultant

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting growing technical teams

  • Experience working across multiple geographies

  • Experience supporting cross-functional teams

  • Strong ability and dexterity to operate across a breadth of HR topics

  • Strong understanding of global HR programs including compensation, performance management, and leadership development

  • Solid analytical capabilities or prior experience in working in analytical functions like compensation or people analytics

  • Solid understanding of various global employment laws and their impact on HR matters

  • A proven track record of providing HR consultation to senior leadership on critical initiatives

  • Unquestioned integrity with assertiveness, presence, and confidence

  • High EQ, personal maturity, cultural awareness and compassion

  • Excellent influencing skills at all levels in the organization and flexibility to be proactive in a fast paced, constantly evolving environment

About the Team

For New York, NY-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$180,000 per year - USD$200,000 per year. For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$180,000 per year - USD$200,000 per year. For Seattle, WA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$162,000 per year - USD$180,000 per year. For all US locations, you will be eligible to participate in Uber's bonus program, and may be offered an equity award & other types of comp. You will also be eligible for various benefits.
