NHL Corporation Thai Specialty Cook (Several Positions) in Seattle, Washington
Like the Isan people, who live and eat close to the land, taking only what they need, at Pestle Rock, we prepare our meals with ingredients that are not just fresh, but local and all-natural, whenever possible. And every day we "rock" the pestle to grind the spices to create the flavors unique to the Northeast region of Thailand. We encourage our customers to eat like the Isan people, with their hands, dipping and mixing their food in a variety of authentic sauces to absorb and combine flavors from sweet and sour to hot and spicy. At Pestle Rock, we believe what the Isan people believe: "more messy means more delicious." We need experienced Thai Specialty Cooks to keep our cuisine authentic and delicious and keep our customers coming back for more.
Specifically, our Thai Specialty Cook will have the following duties:
- Preparing and cooking traditional Isan Thai dishes, using an understanding of the herbs and spices which permeate Thai cooking, including lemongrass, coriander, galingale, garlic, and chilies;
- Checking the quantity and quality of received products;
- Preparing different types of Thai specialty sauces required for marinating and dipping so the dishes contain unique and authentic flavors; and
- Performing other health and sanitation duties, as required by law.
SALARY: $48,693 / year
