Amazon Web Services ("AWS") enables customers of all sizes to run their applications on Amazon's industry-leading cloud computing infrastructure. AWS is growing very rapidly with hundreds of thousands of companies in over 190 countries on the platform. This growth is driving a rapid expansion of its world-wide sales organization and a need for an experienced Business Operation Manager for its Korea team to drive data-driven decision-making, planning, and business analysis.

This hands-on role leads change management of AWS Korea (AWSK) with close alignment with AWSK leadership team including Country Manager. The role requires a hands-on, motivated self-starter passionate about using data to measure and influence every area of the business.

The Business Operation Manager will work closely with multifunctional teams in Korea, and APJ/WW teams to continuously evolve analyzing historic results, planning models, and providing business recommendations to the management team. This includes developing, implementing, and managing business processes, systems, reports, and strategies to optimize functions and meet organizational goals.

The successful candidate will drive improvements in reporting tools, methods, and processes to increase the availability and granularity of actionable data for AWS's management team. The role focuses on providing operational insight to the sales team, and providing analytical insights to the Korea Leadership Team. The ideal candidate should have excellent problem-solving abilities, experience working with large data sets and technical tools, superb communication and customer-relationship skills, outstanding analytic insight, and the ability to communicate complex analytical results clearly.

Key job responsibilities

  • Use solid financial knowledge and business acumen to build financial models, interpret data, draw conclusions, and make recommendations that deliver results, drive improvements, and influence multiple functions within the organization

  • Lead to build Korea Go-To-Market Strategy with in-depth analysis to identify market opportunities and service penetration

  • Develop, manage and provide sales revenue and customer adoption reporting capabilities/systems to field personnel, sales management, and AWS leadership that support a global, multi-channel sales organization with actionable analytics

  • Design and develop insightful dashboards, reports and metrics by using SFDC, BI (Business Intelligence) tools and Excel

  • Effectively manage the growth of the business operations team as it scales rapidly to meet the growing needs of the business

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in Business Operations, Sales Finance, Corporate Planning, Strategic Planning or similar function in a large scale multi-geographical hi-tech Sales Organization.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Accounting, Math, Computer Science, or related field

  • Exhibits sound business judgment, a proven ability to influence others, strong analytical skills, and a proven track record of taking ownership, leading data driven analyses, and influencing results

  • Go-To-Market strategy and planning design and implementation experience

  • Experience in working with SFDC and Business Intelligence tool including Tableau

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in IT industry would be a plus

  • Passion for cloud technologies – working knowledge and experience in cloud computing

  • Operational excellence mind-set and experience. Data driven. Excellent problem-solving skills

  • Ability to effectively lead and work with a variety of organizations, management levels, cultures, and personalities.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a track record of presenting to senior management

  • Expert level in Excel and Data query tools with large data sets

  • Fluent in Korean and English
