Meta Electrical Engineer in Shanghai, China

Summary:

At Meta Reality Labs we aim to bring together the brightest cross-disciplinary minds in one place to deliver on our mission: build tools that help people feel connected, anytime, anywhere. As a Electrical Engineer, you will take a critical role in developing hardware systems for AR and its New Technology Initiatives. You will become part of a team exploring developing concepts through prototyping and into mass-production consumer electronics. You will work as part of a cross functional team requiring collaboration and curiosity in domains other than electrical engineering. Our ideal candidate has strong electrical engineering fundamentals, debugging skills, Orcad/Allegro fluency, manufacturing process knowledge, and experience designing consumer electronics.

Required Skills:

Electrical Engineer Responsibilities:

  1. Support the electrical system development, qualification and system integration from the concept phase to mass production.

  2. Support system stakeholder for electrical system design, performing proving for various design options by designing the experiments.

  3. Perform bring up, debug, troubleshooting.

  4. Support manufacturing and assembly build. failure mode analysis, root cause diagnosis, and system-level problem solving across the various project phases.

  5. Describe complex features and/or systems in detail and are able to communicate technical information effectively.

  6. Work closely with suppliers and influence their roadmap and up level their capabilities to ensure their deliverables can match the product roadmap.

  7. Work with internal cross functional teams to establish display module system integration and analysis.

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. 6+ years of system design or consumer electrical system design.

  2. Bachelor or above degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent field.

  3. Proven knowledge of electrical engineering fundamentals.

  4. Experience with schematic and board design using Cadence OrCAD, Altium or equivalent.

  5. Experience with use of oscilloscopes, high speed digital test equipment, logic analyzers, or function generators.

  6. Proven technical communication skills.

  7. Effective communication, collaboration and partnership with colleagues, cross-functional partners in dynamic and evolving development environments.

Preferred Qualifications:

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Experience in delivering high volume consumer products or similar experience.

  2. Experience in subsystem design of power and display interface (MIPI, eDP, etc), SW-FW development, lab testing.

  3. Experience with power troubleshooting.

  4. Experience with display electrical subsystem design/testing/implementation and system integration, display validation and testing including manufacturing test.

  5. Experience with EMI and ESD risks and mitigation techniques.

  6. Experience with analog/mixed signal IC design, fabrication, and validation process.

  7. Experience designing for HDI rigid PCB and HDI FPC for high volume cost optimized applications.
