General Motors L2++ ADCU Software Design Release Engineer in Shanghai, China

Job Description

  • Define and implement process to efficiently track ADCU SW version compatibility across the L2++ ADCU release cadence.

  • Collaborate with BSW and ASW suppliers to ensure release content and release note meets the requirements.

  • Define and establish a clear release process and make clear records for each release.

  • Conduct high-level ADCU software check on a vehicle and/or ADCU bench

  • Advise technical development teams on which SW configurations are available and advisable to use for different milestones or development needs.

  • Create and maintain controls integration check-out plan for VeSCoM releases.

  • Summarize open issues that exist with each software release.

  • Work with Product Manager/HW-SW manager to verify expected feature set inclusion in software being released to vehicle programs.

  • Work with ADCU HW DREs, L2++ Controls and Release Manager and vehicle Controls Managers to coordinate ADCU SW releases to each VeSCoM and maintain MPL.

  • Ensure HW, SW, and VeSCoM releases are done on time.

  • Provid counsels and advises to leadership.

  • Travel as neccessary.

  • Global clock availability.

Additional Job Description

  • In-depth knowledge of ADAS control module and software interfaces and processes.

  • Vehicle program launch experience, particularly VeSCoM releases.

  • Understanding of ADAS module verification and validation processes.

  • Understanding of ADAS module software and calibration systems.

  • In-depth knowledge of serial data and Ethernet communications.

  • In-depth knowledge of ADAS control module SW architecture.

  • Understanding of vehicle instrumentation and data acquisition systems.

  • Ability to flash software modules and conduct high-level system verification on vehicles.

  • In-depth knowledge of GM global electrical architecture would be a plus.

  • Proactive and results driven individual with high levels of initiative .

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Electrical or Software engineering.

  • 5+ years working with electrical modules and software, have Active Safety and Automated Driving experience.

  • Previous DRE or Controls Integration Engineer or Controls Manager experience a plus.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of GVDP timing and key engineering milestones.

  • Demonstrated excellent oral and written communication skills (English and Chinese).

  • Strong interpersonal skills involving ability to work effectively cross-functionally and cross-culturally.

  • Ability to multi-task and manage multiple requests and deadlines.

  • Excellent organization and project management skills.

  • Proven ability to work with teams that are not under the same org structure.

  • Demonstrated ability of “dealing with ambiguity” to enable timely decision making.
