Emerson Strategic Planner - Shanghai in Shanghai, China

Job Summary:

The Strategic Planner will provide critical support for initiatives that span across Sales, Finance, Business Development, Operations to help drive growth in China. This role will support and participate in Emerson Planning Process for China which will include major management events such as World Area reviews, annual strategy review, and value creation/growth planning conferences.

In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

  • Supports Emerson China President and BU Business Leaders for Marketing and planning tasks, including market research and data analysis, key planning and review meeting preparations, certain projects assigned by management.

  • Collect, analyze and develop report for external and internal information and data, such as policies and regulations, macroeconomic, market growth waves and opportunities, main competitors’ movement, BU performances by various perspectives, etc.

  • Provide findings and suggestions for strategic programs to grow and improve business.

  • Identify and evaluate opportunities for new and existing business.

  • Supports Growth planning, budget and review, and various management planning and review meetings.

  • Works closely with Global, Regional and Business level strategic planners to support data requests as part of the Emerson planning processes.

  • Build up and maintain good knowledge on relevant industry sectors and their development trend to support growth and development of Emerson China.

  • Establish and maintain good relationship with certain government agencies and trade organizations and monitor policy development.

For This Role, You Will Need:

  • University Degree or any equivalent experience in an Engineering such as Mechanical, Chemical Engineering or Automation.

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in the process industries with valve or instrument or system background, especially experience in multinational companies.

  • Logic, strategic thinking, analytical, prioritize, quickly capture, and summarize with experiences in sales, marketing, or consulting firms.

  • Mature personality and interpersonal savvy, strong collaboration style, teamwork, and good communication skills within matrix company.

  • Mature, a great teammate, high integrity, and positive attitude.

Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:

  • MBA will be an advantage.

  • Proficient in English and Chinese.

  • Proven skills and Proficient in work tools such as MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint etc.

  • Occupational Health and Safety Competence.
