New York University Tenured/Tenure-Track Faculty Positions in Biology in Shanghai, China

NYU Shanghai (https://shanghai.nyu.edu/academics/faculty) is currently inviting applications for several positions at the rank of assistant, associate, or full professor in Biology. We are seeking world-class researchers with a proven track record of excellence in both research and teaching.

Terms of employment at NYU Shanghai (https://shanghai.nyu.edu/academics/faculty) are comparable to NYU New York and other U.S. institutions with respect to research start-up funds and compensation, and they include housing subsidies and educational subsidies for children. Faculty may in certain cases have the opportunity to spend time at NYU New York and other sites of the NYU Global Network, engaging in both research and teaching.

Position Requirements

Applicants should have an outstanding research portfolio in biological sciences with a focus on cutting-edge approaches. Candidates using stem cells or organoids or non-mammalian model organisms and working in the fields of computational biology, bioinformatics, cellular and molecular biology, synthetic biology, systems biology, biochemistry, human genomics, or neuroscience are highly encouraged to apply. Work should be positioned at the forefront of innovation, advancing the boundaries of knowledge in the field. Successful candidates must demonstrate a commitment to interdisciplinary collaboration, engaging with faculty members across fields such as engineering, chemistry, physics, computer science, data science and more. We seek faculty who share our vision for ethical, impactful, and interdisciplinary science in biology.

Qualifications

We seek candidates who have completed a Ph.D. in Biology or a closely related discipline. Postdoctoral research experience is preferred. We strongly encourage applications from individuals who will contribute to diversity and equity in higher education and research.

Applicants should submit a cover letter, curriculum vitae, a detailed description of research plans and interests, instrumentation/equipment needs,, and a statement of teaching experience and interests via Interfolio. Additionally, those applying at the rank of assistant or associate professor (without tenure) should enter the names and email addresses of at least three referees. Each referee will be contacted to upload a reference letter through Interfolio.
