General Motors VDC Manager in Shanghai, China

Job Description

The role of VDC manager is to ensure safe and efficient operation in GMPI VDC, through management of the following responsibilities:

  • Track shipping schedule; Port capacity coordination; PDI/HD Map flashing ;Inbound & Outbound operation ;vehicle maintenance ;vehicle repair ;facility and operational safety

  • Manage capacity to support pre-sale activities including field action, campaign and rework

  • Manage new car PDI and repair; control repair budget

  • Manage resident GMPI team

  • Manage EHS by Identifying safety risk and implementing countermeasures

  • Set up and monitor weekly and special audit of site operation

  • Manage performance of VDC vendor and ensure that service scope and standards meet GM vehicle delivery and quality requirements

  • Review service provider's monthly bill to ensure that the fees listed are true and valid; submit an application for payment in the system after the bill is finally confirmed

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or above,

  • more than 7 years of experience in the vehicle logistics industry,

  • Familiar with VDC on-site operations and industry related parties' operating standards, experience in similar work with imported car brands is preferred;

  • Familiar with vehicle performance and various configurations, with certain troubleshooting and vehicle maintenance skills Experience; on-site operations and front-line personnel management;

  • Good at analysis and summary presentation through tools; proficient in MS Office, experience in system (SAP, WMS, etc.) is preferred;

  • English (written/spoken) can be used for work communication
