JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Engineer is accountable for providing client support and info security support to the local Japan business team. The portfolio covers core enterprise systems, PC, basic network operations, technical customer support, information security, mobile and smart devices, basic level info security, and AV system. This role reports to the APAC Regional Manager - Cardinal Health EIT Shared Services.

Function: Information Technology Function -- Information Technology is responsible for the effective development, delivery and operation of computing and information services. Anticipates, plans, and delivers IT solutions and strategy which enable business value.

Family: IT Client Support -- IT Client Support is responsible for providing Tier 2 support for software and hardware devices (virtual or physical) related to desktops, laptops, office/warehouse technologies, associated peripherals, and basic level info security support.

・Demonstrates knowledge of client and office/warehouse hardware, software, operating systems, network configuration, server interaction, diagnostics, and troubleshooting.

・Confers with end users, technology teams, and vendors to resolve incidents and fulfill requests. Ability to lead and work independently or via a team collaboration process. Experience providing support via in-person, phone, or remote methods.

・Installs/removes/configures hardware and software in Windows and Mac system.

・Demonstrates appropriate interpersonal skills to manage and deliver exceptional customer service. Partners with end users to correlate business and financial requirements to technology solutions (strong business and financial acumen).

・Prioritizes effectively and escalates as needed.

・Responds to customer needs and services as assigned.

・Basic understanding of networking and can effectively explain them to technical and non-technical partners.

・Able to travel on short notice according to support remote sites within Japan as required.

Tactical / Operational Management Role:

・Participates in the development of policies and procedures to achieve specific location goals.

・Communicate, collaborates and partnership with APAC, Global GBS and EIT teams.

・Interacts with vendors or suppliers at various management levels.

・May require interaction with senior management on Corporate GBS goals and objectives.

・Participative interactions towards resolution of issues related to operations and/or projects.

・Innovate and Educate systems and processes.

Accountabilities:

・Acts as IT infrastructure support and daily support for Cardinal Health Japan operations and is part of the global IT Shared Services International team.

・Provides ongoing local IT support to Japan operations and partners with broader Cardinal Health IT organization to deliver services to Japan.

・At the appropriate time, is prepared to expand scope of role to deliver other global IT services to Cardinal Health.

Preferred Qualifications:

・Proven IT work experience

・Excellent communication skills (English and Japanese)

・Good understanding of computer systems, networking, and applications

・Bachelor’s Degree Computer Science or relevant Field

・5+ years’ experience working in IT Support Service-related fields.

・Demonstrated experience working in a highly matrixed organization.

・Experience working in a large multi-national company preferred.

・IT Certifications will be as added advantage.

・Basic level Info Security knowledge and certifications

・Bilingual in English and Japanese
