Job Title: Accountant/Financial Analyst

As a crucial member of the Finance Department, the successful candidate will play a key role in managing the financial aspects of our organization, with a focus on funds received from federal, state, and private grantors. This position requires a strong accounting background, experience in grant budgeting, and the ability to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities:

  1. Accounting and Financial Management:

• Record and post financial transactions into the general ledger and accounting system.

• Prepare journal vouchers, complete reconciliations, and manage budgets in accordance with organizational guidelines.

  1. Grant Budgeting and Financial Analysis:

• Assist Program Managers and the Development Department Team in preparing and submitting grant budgets and financial analyses.

• Maintain detailed documentation for all grant and contract submissions and billing.

  1. Grant Administration:

• Maintain a comprehensive schedule of all grants, showcasing monthly activity, balances, and pertinent information.

• Perform monthly reconciliations for all grants, ensuring alignment with General Ledger balances and compliance with requirements.

  1. Deferred Revenue and Receivables:

• Maintain a detailed schedule of Deferred Revenue to ensure proper recognition in accounting periods.

• Reconcile grants and contract revenue and receivables to supporting documentation.

  1. Payroll Allocation and Budget Analysis:

• Generate monthly payroll allocation entries for all grants and enter them into the General Ledger.

• Analyze actual results vs. budget for all grants, collaborating with Program Managers and the Development Department Team to explain variances.

  1. Reporting and Compliance:

• Serve as the Finance Department liaison to Program Managers and federal, state, and local funding agencies.

• Prepare and ensure timely filing of grant-related reports, including Financial Status Reports (FSRs) and PMS 272 Reports.

  1. Budget Preparation and Audits:

• Assist in preparing the annual budget for all Grant Departments following the Budget Calendar issued by the Finance Department.

• Support programmatic and financial audits or examinations as required.

  1. Financial Analyses and Special Projects:

• Prepare detailed financial analyses as management requests.

• Participate in special accounting and finance-related projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or equivalent certification is a plus.

• Proven minimum of five years experience in accounting and financial analysis, particularly in a healthcare or non-profit setting.

• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.

• Strong understanding of grant budgeting, reporting, and compliance.

• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.

• Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
