Unilever Food Safety Specialist in Sikeston, Missouri

This position is responsible for reducing business waste generated from incidents, controlling Shared performance (SP) losses, and responding to environmental positives.

What You’ll Do:

  • Update sanitation manuals and coordinate sanitation training with the Training Supervisor. Update manuals based on loss tree and communicated issues through leadership chain.

  • Preparation of equipment external of CIP with emphasis of reducing CIP time.

  • Respond to environmental issues and assist in building a response plan.

  • Evaluate SP loss in production and work with line teams to reduce SP to support OEE (Overall Equipment Efficiency). Will be responsible for communicating improvements through FI (Focused Improvement) channels.

  • Safety – the expectation of all supervisors is to be actively involved with safety leadership in the workplace.

  • GMPs-the expectation of all supervisors is to actively promote and oversee GMPs.

  • Drive cleaning and disinfection work with key teams. Validation of process and people in cleaning activities. Ensure that procedure and line training mirror any findings during validation.

  • This role should use its reports to maintain a production environment that is clean and upholds all GMP standards. Should work to develop standards for this view of cleanliness.

  • Be aware of and maintain records for PSA (Preventative Sanitation Activities) in production areas. This could include but not limited to gasket changes, dye checks, Core Crew actions, etc.

  • Maintain a good relationship with EEM pillar. Be ready to give advice about FAT/SAT on new equipment.

  • Heavy influence on weekend changeover and vertical start of 24/5 lines Monday mornings.

Working Environment:

Work is performed throughout the facility. Some work will be done in a cold environment. Potential hazards include proximity of moving machinery, chemical exposure, noise, or heavy lifting. The position may require an individual to stand, stoop, move equipment; bend, reach, or lift for prolonged periods of time. PPE includes safety glasses, hearing protection and sanitary footwear. Supervisor must successfully pass approved HAZWOPER training course.

Knowledge and skill requirements:

  • College degree in a manufacturing related field preferred.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with all personnel levels.

  • Ability to read and interpret policies and procedures and ensure clear communication of them.

  • Ability to maintain accurate records and work on multiple tasks.

  • Ability to make supervisory-level decisions.

  • Ability to handle disciplinary actions and proper documentation.

  • Must have a basic knowledge of technical machinery or processing equipment.

  • Must understand lubrication, sanitation, change-over, KPIs, new products, PM process.

  • Must take ownership of a work center(s) or area in a WCM role.

Pay: The pay range for this position is $67,000 to $100,500 . Unilever takes into consideration a wide range of factors that are utilized in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, qualifications and education, and other business and organizational needs.

Bonus: This position is bonus eligible.

Long-Term Incentive (LTI): This position is LTI eligible.
