Customers in over 150 countries look to our expertise in pricing, news, and analytics to deliver greater transparency and efficiency to markets. The Asia-Pacific agriculture pricing team is a dynamic and expanding team responsible for key pricing benchmarks across the region.

The Impact: We are seeking someone passionate about the Agriculture space and experience in this sector is a bonus. The person will expand our market coverage in Asia, with the primary focus on animal protein industry or the feed complex. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team and drive S&P Global Platts assessments adoption as price benchmarks.

What’s in it for you:

  • Opportunities to represent Platts at industry events, face-to-face meetings, presenting at conferences, webinars, podcasts or other interviews and to further develop Platts as a significant presence in the Agriculture commodity space

  • The successful candidate would contribute to a fast paced team based in Singapore that works across the proteins, biofuels, sugar, vegetable oils, grains and oilseeds space as well as with the global agriculture team in USA, South America, Europe and India

  • Assist in identifying, developing and executing assessment opportunities to drive growth in the Agriculture markets

Responsibilities:

  • Reporting on daily physical trading activity as well as bids, offers and other relevant information

  • Identifying opportunities to refine methodology and help develop price assessments

  • Building and managing our database of contacts

  • Writing a daily commentary and assessment rationale explaining the trends driving prices

  • Building and maintaining transactions databases

  • Creating news stories and multi-media coverage in collaboration with colleagues in India

  • Representing Platts at industry events as well as in face-to-face meetings with market participants in order to drive market adoption

  • Collaborating with the Agriculture Analytics team

What We’re Looking For:

Basic Qualifications:

  • High intellectual curiosity and effective problem-solving skills

  • One to three years’ experience of global agricultural commodity markets. Feed complex experience preferred: Protein, Soybeans, and/or Corn

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact with a wide range of role types and personalities, internally and externally

  • Other language skills are a plus

  • Detail oriented with a critical degree of accuracy regarding data entry and analysis

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Able to communicate ideas clearly and keen to learn

  • A solid understanding of economics principles and commodities markets fundamentals

  • Strong numeracy skills and the ability to apply basic math functions in Excel

  • Ability to multitask and work under tight deadlines
