Siemens is revolutionizing the future of manufacturing with the construction of a high-tech electronics factory in Singapore. We are seeking a visionary and experienced Head of Business Excellence to drive transformative support functions across our factory, championing lean operations, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

You will make an impact in the following:

  • As a Business Excellence Expert, your responsibility will be to drive a diverse range of support functions for the entire factory. These functions range from workplace safety, industrial engineering, to lean operations.

  • You (co-)develop and implement strategic plans and initiatives to drive business excellence across the manufacturing network and the plant. Further, you act as the go-to-person for all centrally hosted corporate business functions and ensure continuous alignment between the plant, the headquarters, and the other functions of the manufacturing network.

  • You lead the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of business processes, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness. Therefore, you champion and propagate the use of a wide set of tools and methodologies such as Six Sigma, Lean, and Kata. Your goal is to foster a culture of pristine quality and continuous improvement throughout the organization.

  • Not only do you excel in continuous improvement, but you also possess innate problem-solving abilities. In situations requiring troubleshooting, you can swiftly assess problems, delve into their history, and implement innovative solutions.

  • You assume the role of overseeing the company-wide strategy process, Hoshin Kanri, specifically for the plant. You serve as the primary driver, collaborating closely with the plant management to ensure its effective implementation.

  • You position the Singapore plant as a shining example of people-centricity within the manufacturing network and actively disseminate the valuable insights gained from it to others in the network. Additionally, you collaboratively develop and implement strategic plans and initiatives to continually enhance the culture of learning and people-centricity within the plant.

  • You continuously stay updated on emerging trends and best practices in manufacturing and are not shy to consequently explore innovative approaches and ideas. Amidst all those tasks, you act as a role model and the main advocate for people-centric operations and leadership, constantly putting your colleagues first when striving for further improvement

You’re excited to build on your existing expertise, including:

  • With a true generalist nature and a top-notch STEM (post-)graduate background, you possess the ability to cover a wide variety of subjects and tasks at the same time.

  • You look back at several years of experience in the (electronics) manufacturing industry. Further, you have covered at least one staff position in your previous career (e.g. strategy, planning, business excellence) and know about the peculiarities of this job type.

  • You possess a remarkable combination of assertiveness and social competence, allowing you to effectively manage diverse stakeholders on various levels. Interacting with both senior management and blue-collar colleagues comes naturally to you.

  • Your capabilities extend to a wide array of methods and tools (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean, etc.), allowing you to tackle complex problems with a multifaceted approach. Moreover, your unwavering enthusiasm for learning ensures that you are and further remain up to date with the latest advancements and eagerly embrace new techniques.

  • As a collaborative player, you are known for your exceptional communication skills. You effortlessly convey complex ideas

  • and provide guidance with clarity and empathy. Your strong strategic mindset and vision enable you to envision long-term goals and formulate actionable plans to achieve them. You excel at setting clear objectives, delegating tasks, and empowering team members to contribute their best.

  • You have an extensive network both inside and outside of Siemens and the (FA) manufacturing network and are willing to leverage that network to foster continuous innovation and improvement.
