Abbott Marketing Manager - Emerging Markets, APAC (Molecular Diagnostics) in Singapore, Singapore

Primary Function:

  • The Marketing Manager will identify, manage and deliver customer centric solutions to the markets assigned in the APAC region.

  • The key areas of responsibilities include strategic marketing planning and tactical execution prioritizing profitable and impactful areas for growth in consideration of customer requirements and macro market conditions; identifying and executing new channel opportunities for increased market access; gaining insights and analysing market conditions and market trends and using the intel for planning; developing and managing competitive strategies; and identifying opportunities for increasing customer and business value through product and workflow differentiation while partnering with other Abbott divisions and functions for a complete solution.

  • The Marketing Manager will work closely with sales, distribution partners and other support functions to ensure revenue and customer satisfaction goals are met.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Develop annual marketing plan and initiatives for the molecular diagnostics business in each country, prioritizing according to business impact and aligning to key business objectives.

  • Effectively manage marketing, partnerships, sponsorships, advertising and promotional initiatives to achieve short and long term business objectives; including revenue, sales, profit and market share targets

  • Monitor and manage marketing activities within budgeted constraints and understand the fundamental aspects of financial performance. Identify trends and draw appropriate insight from financial and Commercial Excellence data

  • Identify, analyze, and translate product, brand, customer and competitive information into marketing plans. Ensure all materials and activities are aligned with and executed in accordance with the larger, strategic plan and branding requirements

  • Keep abreast of the market dynamics, competition, products, disease states, therapeutic area, and current research, and use this information to create a compelling message for the target audience. Understand the healthcare business environment, government policies; distribution channels; and pricing strategies

  • Introduces and markets new products by developing time-integrated plans with sales, supply chain, regulatory and quality, Scientific Affairs and Government Affairs when needed

  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.

  • Maintain professional network with the Key Opinion Leaders, policy makers, funders and other key stakeholders to optimise Abbott brand, solutions and company position in the market, partnering with other functions including Market Access, Medical/Scientific Affairs, Government Affairs

  • Ensure marketing activities comply with relevant Acts, legal demands, ethical standards and Corporate Business and Safety procedures

  • Effectively communicate with cross-functional teams within and across Abbott Divisions

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing/Molecular Biology/Medical/Biological sciences or related disciplines

  • Minimum 10 years experience in product management and marketing and/or business development in diagnostics/medical devices/pharma

  • Prior marketing experience in infectious disease and sexual & women’s health management in public health and private laboratory highly preferred

  • Experience in market access or laboratory sales will be an advantage

  • Strong stakeholder management skills, experienced in influencing stakeholders internally & externally such as KOLs, Medical Societies, policy makers, guideline influencers etc

  • Collaborative and hands-on, able to work cross functionally and across borders within region

  • Strong communication skills, English proficiency required
