Amazon is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Principal Solutions Architect to analyze and deliver insights on signals to help us better serve customers. Our team’s mission is to look around corners for what will be compelling for customers in the future. We obsess over ideas, activities, and trends that could be differentiating for our customers. You will have the opportunity to continuously learn about new technologies and domains like robotics, cloud services, eCommerce, advertising, logistics etc. and engage with business and technology leaders across amazon businesses.

The right candidate is passionate about understanding the business strategy, competitive landscape and diving deep into complex and ambiguous problems, and continuously striving to find deeper insights using data, solution and system architecture analysis. You will develop studies that deep dive into various technologies, industries and sectors. The person in this role will innovate, build new methodologies to generate insights, and make recommendations to drive actions that directly impact our customers. A successful candidate will possess ability to think strategically about business, products, and technical challenges, have excellent analytical and communication skills, ability to work collaboratively to influence business and technology leaders at all levels, including senior management.

Key job responsibilities

Perform in-depth analyses and deliver key insights

Make recommendations based on insights to drive actions that impact Amazon customers

Collaborate with business and technology leaders to deliver deep insights and influence change.

Deliver projects in a complex and ambiguous environment.

Own and execute end-to-end analyses, including scoping, design, data collection, data analysis, creation of recommendations, and presentation of results to senior leadership.

Evaluate business capabilities, business processes, technology/solution architectures and share knowledge amongst the Amazon solutions architect/principal engineer community.

Perform rapid prototyping or proof of concept using frontend and/or backend technologies to deliver deep insights.

Learn and be curious about the constantly changing Amazon businesses and the competitive environment to help design new studies

We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations:

Singapore, SGP

Basic Qualifications

• 10+ years of specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics) experience

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics or equivalent

• Experience developing technology solutions and evangelising end-to-end technology roadmaps that guide IT transformations toward cloud computing

• Experience communicating across technical and non-technical audiences and at C-level, including training, workshops, publications

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of distributed systems design and implementation or equivalent

• Knowledge of large scale automation and workflow management or equivalent

• Knowledge of database design and implementation or equivalent

• Knowledge of presentations and whiteboarding skills with a high degree of comfort speaking with internal and external executives, IT management, and developers

• Experience architecting, migrating, transforming or modernizing customer requirements to the cloud
