The overall focus is to accelerate business growth via recruiting kids and adults by improving the understanding of LEGO brand value proposition, enhancing coolness perception, and improving engagement across physical & online retail channels.

This role is part of the BU marketing organization, which includes Brand Marketing, Digital Marketing, and Trade Marketing – reporting to the BU Marketing Director. The team is highly collaborative, dynamic and energetic, espousing the values and behaviors of the LEGO Group.

Core Responsibilities

  • Lead the creation and development of the entire retail marketing strategy: assortment strategy, in-store planograms & merchandising, promotion strategy, drive period campaigns, & in-store activations – as per aligned consumer audience & channel priorities, to help deliver consumer sales KPIs.

  • Build positive relationships with key customers & distributors to help achieve Customer Pulse KPI

  • People management and Development of trade marketing team of two people based remotely. Help drive total BU People Pulse KPI by recognizing victories, addressing challenges and developing people.

  • Oversee mall events toolkit and assets sharing with agencies/distributor partners by local development or sourcing from the region or another business unit

  • Work closely with distributor partners / retailer marketing teams and guide them to strongly implement trade plans. Build channel differentiation where possible. Be a brand guardian and help drive traffic to retail partners.

  • Analyze past & present performance on promotion planning & learn from other business units / brands to create strong marketing programs

  • Input and co-shape the APAC Trade strategy in collaboration with APAC Trade Marketing Network across a diverse mix of channels: LEGO Certified Stores, eCommerce pure players, Toy Specialists & Department stores

Do you have what it takes?

  • Bachelor’s degree in business/marketing or equivalent working experience would be preferred

  • Minimum 8+ years' relevant marketing experience for consumer brands, preferable in retail context in branded goods industry in categories such as: Sports, Fashion/ Novelty Retail, FMCG, Snacks/Beverages

  • Strong strategic and well-rounded end-to-end thinking—the ability to translate global/regional strategy into local priorities for Trade Marketing with a commercial attitude

  • Proven results orientation with successful experience in decision making, data centricity, bravery to test hypothesis, a constantly learning approach, strong analytical and evaluation skills and ability to turn takeaways into action

  • Strong collaborator and relationship builder; able to work across various internal functions and external partners to influence key decisions

  • Proven cross-functional leadership skills, thriving in a team setting

  • Able to navigate ambiguity with a solution-oriented mentality

  • Strong ownership & Can-do attitude

  • Effective presentation and writing skills with the ability to convey a compelling and concise message and to engage and inspire colleagues

  • Track record of designing and rolling out innovative projects in the area of Trade Marketing via constant test-and-learn attitude is a strong plus

  • Proficient in English, both written and spoken; knowledge of any local languages is a bonus.
