General Description and Essential Functions

The Accounting Internship opportunity provides key foundational banking and accounting reconciliation principles and concepts. Position will be responsible for learning and experiencing key job duties within the Accounting/Finance department. Areas intern may work within include: Reconciliation, General Ledger Close, and Financial reporting.

  • Assist with the reconciliation of Great Western Bank’s general ledger accounts.

  • Communicate and assist managers on any issues regarding the balancing of the general ledger accounts.

  • Prepare and verify daily reports.

  • Compile data for monthly or quarterly reporting.

  • Investigate and communicate reconciling items.

Job Expectations

Junior or senior level student pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or related field with an interest and/or experience in banking field.

  • Minimum 3.00 cumulative GPA.

  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office.

  • Ability to work independently and maintain confidential information.

  • Must be a self-starter with demonstrated initiative; leadership potential.
