Summary This National Guard position is for an ELECTRONIC INTEGRATED SYSTEMS MECHANIC, Position Description Number NGD2327000 and is part of 114 MAI SQ. This is a Title 32, Dual-Status position. AREAS OF CONSIDERATION: - All members of the South Dakota Air National Guard and those eligible to join. Responsibilities As an ELECTRONIC INTEGRATED SYSTEMS MECHANIC, WG-2610-14, you will: This position is located in either the Avionics Intermediate Shop (AIS), Improved Avionics Intermediate Shop (IAIS) or ECM Pod Shop, Component Repair Branch, of an Aircraft Maintenance Squadron. This is an Air National Guard (ANG) Dual Status Technician position requiring military membership, compatible military skill assignment, and classification. The purpose of this position is to serve as a Small Shop Chief (SSC) with the responsibility for the overall shop. The position oversees and directs work of one or more Electronic Integrated Systems Mechanics, WG-2610-13, who are assigned to the shop. The incumbent performs the full range of non-supervisory work of the shop. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED: This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the National Guard. Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform. Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment. MILITARY REQUIREMENTS: Selected individual must be assigned to a compatible military position in one of the AFSCs listed below upon date of hire. Military grade inversion within the full-time work force is not permitted. The military grade of the full time supervisor must equal or exceed the military grade of personnel supervised. The Allowed Compatible AFSCs for PD# D2327000, WG-2610-14 are: 2A071 - Avionics Test Station and Components; 2A271 - Special Operations Forces/personnel Recovery (SOF/PF) Integrated Communications/Navigation/Mission Systems; 2A272 - Special Operations Forces/personnel Recovery (SOF/PF) Integrated Instrument and Flight Control Systems; 2A273 - Special Operations Forces/personnel Recovery (SOF/PF) Integrated Electronic Warfare Systems; 2A374 - Fighter Aircraft Integrated Avionics; 2A375 - Advanced Fighter Aircraft Integrated Avionics; 2A871 - Mobility Air Forces Integrated Communication/Navigation/Mission Systems; 2A872 - Mobility Air Forces Integrated Instrument and Flight Control Systems; 2A971 - Bomber/Special (B/S) Integrated Communication/Navigation/Mission Systems; 2A972 - Bomber/Special (B/S) Integrated Instrument and Flight Control Systems; and, 2A973 - Bomber/Special (B/S) Integrated Electronic Warfare & Radar Surveillance Systems. GENERAL EXPERIENCE: To qualify an applicant for one of the FWS Series 2610 ANG Dual Status Technician positions, apply and evaluate the applicant's competencies, military and civilian experiences, completed education, learned skills, obtained knowledge, endorsed abilities, and training program accomplishments. The following seven basic qualification factors are applicable to the FWS ANG Dual Status Technician positions: Skilled in collecting and analyzing data effectively, efficiently, and accurately. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively. Skilled in duties such as, install, modify, overhaul, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, align, calibrate, and rebuild multi-system avionics complexes. Ability to format and write English in reports and presentation formats. Skilled in presenting formal training presentations and briefings. Skilled in applying procedures and directives by reading and interpreting material. Skilled in training, mentoring, leading, and problem-solving. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: The applicant must have at least 24 months of specialized experiences working as an Electronic Integrated Systems Mechanic, WG-2610-13, and must possess the craftsmen knowledge and skills level as required for planning, accomplishing, and maintaining a functional shop maintenance program. Experiences included the ability to plan and complete assigned mechanic shop work. Skilled in completing tasks and works well with others to complete the work. Skilled and knowledgeable of the required and appropriate maintenance procedures to ensure the accurate and efficient completion of work activities. Experienced in estimating manpower, equipment and material requirements involved to finish assigned work or special projects. Experienced in devising and maintaining all program plans and records. Skilled in delivering surveillance and troubleshooting techniques. Capable of independently determining levels of maintenance and necessary repair procedures. Skilled in planning, organizing, and directing shop maintenance programs/procedures. Experienced in determining various approaches, methods, and courses-of-action required to effectively and efficiently accomplish the mission work. Skilled and articulate in providing recommendations to supervisors in regard to personnel actions, such as performance appraisals, awards, position descriptions changes, disciplinary actions, or leave requests. Skilled in implementing environmental safety requirements and identifying equipment handling concerns that resulted in observed safety and housekeeping practices. Experiences included compliance with wearing the appropriate safety equipment and following pertinent safety precautions. Note: For the WL-13, WL-12, WG-14, and WG-13 ANG Dual Status Technician positions, the mandatory military education requirements are the completion of an Air Force Seven Skill Level Technical Training School and awarded a compatible Seven Skill Level AFSC, along with the successful completion of at least one military professional education course program. Knowledge, Skill, and Abilities (KSAs): Applicants are strongly encouraged to submit a separate sheet(s) addressing the Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs) and how they relate to work experience, education or training. Skill to determine approaches, methods and courses of action required to accomplish the mission of the shop in an effective and efficient manner. Skill to plan and lay out work to be accomplished in the shop, which is then completed by the incumbent and lower graded mechanic(s). Skill to estimate manpower, equipment and material requirements. Skill in surveillance and troubleshooting techniques.
