Avera is currently seeking an Aviation Safety Manager!

Job Summary

The Aviation Safety Manager is a licensed professional who is assigned and orientated to the Careflight program. Must demonstrate interdisciplinary skills and build relationships based on trust with team members. Must be approachable and easy to engage and deliver safety information across all levels of the organization. Must be able to utilize and apply analytical and critical thinking; be able to apply knowledge to the day-to-day duties, from a systems thinking perspective. Must have knowledge and understanding of aviation safety programs, aviation safety standards, and safe aviation operating practices.

Education and/or Experience

  • Experience in a part 121 or 135 operation.

  • High school diploma or general education degree required.

  • Safety Training Management Academy (SMTA) certificate or other safety-related training pertinent to the program's scope of services within three years.

Certification, Licensure and/or Registration

  • Required to have a Federal aviation Administration (FAA) Commercial Certificate, an Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate, Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) Certificate, and/or Aircraft Dispatcher License.

  • Safety Management System (SMS) certification within six months.

Work Schedule

  • Varied Shifts; 80hrs/2wks
