Description Robert Half is looking to find a talented, efficient Staff Accountant to join an esteemed organization in the Wholesale Distribution industry. As a Staff Accountant, you'll be responsible for preparing journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation. You'll also be responsible for various aspects of internal reporting during the monthly close. Additionally, you'll be participating in compliance, reviewing schedules for the reporting processes, and staying connected with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits. This role also involves the production of Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. This Skokie, Illinois based company is offering a long-term contract / contract to permanent opportunity that is multi-faceted and challenging in nature. Your responsibilities

• Support fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation

• Maintain monthly payment schedules

• Prepare complex journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll

• Be a part of various department-wide initiatives

• Partake in annual closing processes

• Complete month end close, journal entries, without supervision

• Aid in implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP

• Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as needed

• Create monthly statement analysis to be used for management reportings

• Offer descriptions of a large number of financial data and communicate insights in a useful and understandable manner Requirements - The ideal candidate will be highly-skilled with exceptional analytical, quantitative and social skills

• Microsoft Excel experience desired

• BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics

• Commitment and abilities to meet critical business deadlines

• Current and relevant ERP system experience

• Working knowledge of spreadsheets and databases

• Ability to work within spreadsheets and databases

• Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills

• Seizes opportunities to produce results without direct supervision

• Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic and constantly changing company environment

• Attention to detail and demonstrated ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement

• Recent and relevant accounting experience
