Program Summary

KBR proudly serves as the performance-based contractor for Base Operations Services at the Aegis Ashore Missile Defence System in Naval Support Facility (NSF) Redzikowo, Poland. This program focuses on the deployment and operational management of the sophisticated Aegis system, designed to intercept, and neutralize short- and medium-range ballistic missiles. Our primary mission is to ensure seamless base operations, directly enhancing strategic defence capabilities.

NSF Redzikowo, housing the second Aegis Ashore system, plays a crucial role in NATO's defence against missile threats. Commissioned in September, the facility emphasizes our commitment to supporting key military infrastructures. Its strategic location northwest of Warsaw, near the Russian exclave of Kaliningrad, positions it strategically in European defence.

Our involvement in NSF Redzikowo includes comprehensive Base Operations Services, showcasing KBR's expertise in managing complex military facilities. The base incorporates essential infrastructure, such as administrative offices, housing, dining facilities, security buildings, and athletic facilities—all maintained to the highest standards.

Job Summary

Working under direct supervision, this role involves daily task assignments. The individual may clarify instructions and documentation to plan work activities, assist in coordinating the movement of materials and equipment to work locations, and set up work sites. Responsibilities also include completing and reviewing records, maintaining tools and equipment, and performing various clean-up activities. The job may involve moderate to heavy lifting, and strict adherence to safety rules and procedures, including the use of required personal safety equipment, is essential. A high school diploma or equivalent, along with a minimum of 2 years of experience, is required.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Select type and size of piping materials and equipment based on job specifications.

  • Layout, fabricate, assemble, install, and maintain piping systems, pipe supports, fixtures, and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment.

  • Inspect worksites for obstructions; plan installation sequences to avoid obstacles and coordinate with other workers.

  • Cut, thread, and bend pipes using various tools and machines.

  • Assemble and install metal or nonmetal pipes and fittings using various joint methods.

  • Secure pipes to structures with brackets, clamps, and hangers; weld pipe supports to structural steel members.

  • Install and maintain refrigeration and air conditioning systems, test piping systems for leaks.

  • Remove and reinstall pumps, filters, manifolds, valves; troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair piping systems.

  • Clean, service, repair, or replace piping components; perform pressure tests and return systems to service.

  • Follow schematics and procedures; complete all documentation related to testing and repairs.

  • Conduct hydraulic hose and tube fabrication; perform tank testing and describe closing procedures.

  • Maintain integrity of interiors and exteriors; communicate updates to management and co-workers.

  • Perform installation and modification of piping systems, follow blueprints, and cut/thread pipes.

  • Connect pipes to fixtures, repair packs, and adjust valves; test systems for leaks and compliance.

  • Set up and operate burning torch; ensure compliance with safety and project rules.

  • Prepare and submit accurate reports for equipment repair and maintenance.

  • Participate in process improvement initiatives; plan and coordinate with other departments.

  • Communicate equipment problems or breakdown information; inform management of technical issues.

  • Promote a safe and respectful work environment; ensure proper use of permit to work and isolation systems.

Basic Qualifications

  • US Citizenship

  • Must be fluent in English.

  • Must possess passport book (not passport card) with at least 12 months of remaining validity AND with at least 4 blank visa/stamp pages remaining.

  • Must possess driver's license with at least 6 months of remaining validity.

  • Must possess security clearance or the ability to obtain and maintain.

  • Minimum of 3 years and above documented field experience in chosen craft discipline.

  • Proficiency with computers and familiarity with operational and maintenance publications required.

  • Ability to read and interpret instructions, document, plan, and perform work activities independently.

  • Valid Plumber/pipefitter trade license/certification.

  • Backflow prevention license.

Preferred Qualifications

  • NAVFAC Experience

  • Graduate of Trade School or University where knowledge and training acquired are applicable to job requirements
