Job Summary:

MAM - Execution Systems (ES) is a dedicated team of enthusiastic and skilled Automation professionals with various technical expertise, responsible for the (support of) implementation, validation, qualification, and maintenance of the ISA-95 level 1 and 2 manufacturing automated systems and applicable interfaces and level 3 recipe content for the Leiden manufacturing facility. We ensure that automated systems are fit for intended use and follow applicable regulatory requirements (e.g. cG(a)MP) and company manufacturing standards throughout the entire system life cycle.

The Execution Systems Senior Data Engineer – Data & Strategic technologies is a specialist in the field of industrial automation with broad experience of systems across this sector in combination with leading expertise on data strategy and implementation of new data technologies in a manufacturing environment. The Senior Data Engineer feels naturally comfortable with the responsibility of maintaining and enhancing their systems as well as supporting opportunities for increasing our data maturity toward high degree of integration data management and adoptive plant capabilities.

The ideal candidate should be a strong communicator, a passionate change agent, and have a good understanding about the challenges and opportunities of Execution Systems within Janssen.

The team you are in, will serve as a primary point of contact for Digitalization, New Technologies, Data Management and Data standards related subjects to the Leiden site and will support platform needs, partnering with the local leadership teams, and take end-to-end accountability of all local Execution Systems solutions.

The responsibilities and the impact YOU will have:

  • Support building the site Data strategy in close collaboration with other departments.

  • Provide architectural oversight for processes which perform data transformation.

  • Execute data content or architectural changes.

  • Support technical team lead in influence and drive business strategy and processes towards digitalization, and standardization, while maintaining J&J technology, quality, and compliance standards.

  • Drive the implementation of key initiatives and projects in area of responsibility by ensuring appropriate business engagement, collaborating with key partners, clearing roadblocks, and challenging the status quo.

  • Build the digital roadmaps with operational and IT partners which clearly communicates the digital journey for change across the sites.

  • The ability to understand a wide range of process and to be able to make well-rounded decisions for the improvement of Manufacturing Execution Systems across multiple sites

Qualifications

We would love to hear from YOU, if you have the following essential requirements:

Qualifications:

  • A technical education / degree in industrial automation or relevant engineering discipline is required, at Bachelor level or higher

  • Experience in a GxP regulated environment with a required minimum of 4-6 years and proven knowledge of current Good Automated Manufacturing Practices (GAMP).

  • Experience in industrial automation technology standards and validation in Pharma industry is preferred.

  • Proven knowledge in at least one of the following platforms, DeltaV (DCS), Osisoft PIMS, or SCADA. Preferred knowledge in Siemens S7 & Tia Portal (PLC), Priva TC or Honeywell (Building Automation), SynTQ (Process Analytical Technology) and GxP infrastructure, Process modelling ISA-88/95, MES systems, Multivariate Analytics, Modelling, databases, data integration patterns, Microsoft Azure, Artificial Intelligence (AI), machine learning and deep learning

  • Experience in the implementation of IT OT digital projects

  • Project Management Certification OR 3 years of Project management experience, incl. working in global teams with remote support.

Key Competencies:

  • Excellent analytical skills and critical thinking with can-do mentality.

  • Demonstrated understanding of data lifecycle required around data ingestion, data contextualization; data insights and analytics is required.

  • Experience working with diverse manufacturing data sources combined with a solid understanding of how they are used to create valuable business insights.

  • Experience with one or more programming languages such as Python, R, SQL, Java or Scala and experience in BI software tools like Tableau, Qlik, Power BI.

  • Implementation of Master Data Management systems and data governance.

  • Demonstrated experience in setting up and managing data in cloud computing environment (AWS/Azure Cloud Platforms) highly preferred.
