Department of Ecology WCC Crew Coordinator (Natural Resource Specialist 5) in Spokane, Washington

The Washington Conservation Corps (WCC)  within the Department of Ecology is looking to fill a *WCC Crew Coordinator (Natural Resource Specialist 5) *position.

This position can be located in any one of the following offices:

*Central Region Office (CRO) in *Union Gap, WA{rel="nofollow"}. *Eastern Region Office (ERO) in *Spokane, WA{rel="nofollow"}. Upon hire, you must live within a commutable distance from the duty station.

 

In this position, you will work directly with local, state, and federal organizations to plan and manage diverse natural resource projects throughout the state. You will manage the activities of WCC crews located in Snohomish and Northern King Counties. WCC crews consist of five AmeriCorps members and one crew Supervisor. Each of the 5 WCC Crew Coordinators acts as a lead in a priority area. This position takes the lead with risk management for the section and our wildland fire administration efforts. This includes the development of best practices, policies, and training priorities around risk management and coordinating as a liaison with wildland fire management agencies in Washington.  

We are looking for applicants who have demonstrated leadership experience in youth training or workforce development programs. Our ideal candidate will have excellent organizational and communication skills, experience developing policies and procedures, and a background in habitat and environmental restoration.

*Program Mission: *The mission of the Shorelands and Environmental Assistance Program is to create community conservation partnerships to protect and restore our shorelands, wetlands, and floodplains.  Our Washington Conservation Corps (WCC) is an AmeriCorps program within SEA that creates future leaders through community involvement and mentorship.

*Tele-work options for this position: *This position will spend approximately 50% of each workweek in the field. Non-field days are eligible for up to a 90% tele-work schedule. Schedules are dependent upon position needs and are subject to change.
