POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The individual will perform any work in connection with the installation, operation, and maintenance of the underground and aerial cable systems.
The salary range for this position starts at $36.08 (as of 10/01/2024) and progresses in accordance with the union contract. Check out the career site for an overview of benefits.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
A high school diploma or the equivalent is required; the ability to successfully pass the Construction and Skilled Trades Test (CAST) and the Agility Assessment; Splicing experience is preferred . The selected candidate must possess a valid motor vehicle license and be qualified to obtain or maintain a Commercial Driver's License (CDL), and must live within 30 minutes of the reporting location for trouble call assignments. This position will be considered a shift position and the employee may be required to work a four, ten-hour day schedule.
RETENTION:
Retention Incumbent qualified employees who elect to accept a position within the Splicer Helper classification will be retained in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement. (Three years total in Underground)
